Home to both Rochester and Sacred Heart Griffin, who have a combined 14 state titles since 2005, the amount of talent in the 217 is never ending. These are some of the top Offensive Prospects for the upcoming class.
Paul Hartman
Paul Hartman
This gigantic 3-sport athlete from the state capital is an intriguing prospect. In an offense where he wasn’t asked to throw the ball a lot he still managed over 500 yards and 7 touchdown passes. Look for him to take more control of the offense and be a bigger part in 2023. He throws a nice deep ball with a quick release and his track speed shows up when you least expect it. I fully anticipate him leaving this summer camp season with multiple offers to play college football. His Twitter handle is @paul_hartman24
Cam’Ron Mitchell
Cam’Ron Mitchell
One half of the dynamic backfield for the Crimson football team, Cam’Ron is absolutely electric with the ball in his hands totally almost 1000 yards of offense and 12 touchdowns. His speed out of the backfield is apparent from the dust he leaves defenders behind in, and he has soft hands to handle passes out in space as well. He is a legitimate threat to score any time he touches the ball. Look for him to have another big season in 2023 and garner a ton of interest during the summer camp season. Mani Moore
Mani Moore
The other half of the Crimson backfield is no slouch on the field either. He is asked to block a little more in the backfield but don’t sleep on him taking one to the house either. He totaled over 400 yards rushing at an astounding 14.8 yards per carry in 2022. While he is sharing carries in 2023 don’t be surprised if he also approaches 1000 total yards as well. Parker Gillespie
Parker Gillespie
Look for Parker to take the next step in becoming the next great Rochester High Quarterback. Parker has been one of the Rockets top Wide Receivers the last two seasons totaling over 1600 yards on over 100 catches with 13 touchdowns. He also has managed to rush for over 400 yards and attempt 10 passes with 2 touchdowns there. I expect Parker to take a big step this summer during 7 on 7 and be the main QB in the fall of 2023.
Jack is a multi-dimensional 2-sport athlete who will literally line up all over the field for the Rockets in 2023. You can find him split wide, inline tight or even in the backfield. He is an adept blocker and moves well in space for his size. Look for another big season from the 225 pound TE/WR this fall and don’t be surprised if he doubles the 41 catches he had in 2022 moving forward. His Twitter handle is @jackswaney15
Highlights
Another jack of all trades for the 2022 4A State Champs, Ethan managed to rush for almost 300 yards and 7 touchd. owns last season in a crowded Cyclone backfield. Look for Ethan to get the bulk of the carries in 2023 as SHG looks to make it to a third straight state title game. In typical SHG running back form he is tough to tackle inside but has the speed and quickness to get to the edge or split the middle wide open. I would expect close to 1000 yards from Ethan in 2023.
