Overstreet’s a versatile, natural athlete that made plays in all three phases as a DB, WR, and return specialist for D2-AA state champion Mater-Dei Catholic. He excels at creating turnovers on defense and producing explosive plays with the ball in his hands. He offers positional versatility as a roaming deep safety and a nickel CB that can cover man over the slot. He shows great ball skills at the catch-point and can find lanes in tight areas as a ball-carrier. Overstreet picked up offers from Black Hills St. and Culver-Stockton in December.
Carroll was a two-way starter at WR/CB for one of the most talented secondaries in California. He’s a skilled cover corner that shows ability to match up 1v1 on the outside or over the slot. He uses his length effectively to deflect passes and jam receivers at the LOS. He moves fluidly in coverage, can speed-turn and open up on routes without losing speed or positioning. Carroll has offers from Utah Tech and Grambling.
Xavier Barksdale
Xavier Barksdale
Barksdale presents appealing D-I upside as a CB with great length and speed at 6’3”/180. He uses timing, length, and a strong punch to create PBUs in coverage. He’s a physical cover-2 corner in the flat and disrupts routes on the front-end in press coverage. He’s a solid tackler in space that can chew up ground with long strides and deliver strong contact in space. Barksdale’s drawn interest from several Pac-12 programs and just committed to Oregon as a PWO on 1/7.
George is an underrated slot WR that was second on the team in catches and receiving yards behind UCLA-signee Jeremiah McClure Jeremiah McClure 6'2" | 195 lbs | WR Mater Dei Catholic | 2023 State CA . He works the seams and middle of the field extremely well and shows strong hands catching in traffic. He’s an effective route-runner that can avoid getting jammed by OLBs and shows IQ/awareness finding windows against zone coverage. He can find lanes and be creative in space to create explosive plays after the catch. George holds an offer from Holy Cross and has drawn interest from some Mountain West programs.
Thomas was an important piece in all three phases for Granite Hills’ state championship run. He’s an active CB that excels at playing with his eyes in zone coverage and putting himself in position to make a play. He can cover space in the flat and deep-third with twitchy reactions and compact quickness. He flashes natural athleticism and playmaking ability with the ball in his hands as a return specialist. Thomas picked up a D-2 offer from Fort Lewis in December.
Nico Arboit
Nico Arboit
Arboit was a volume target/ball-handler for Carlsbad’s productive offense this season. He’s a crafty slot receiver that can find the soft spots in zone behind the LBs and reliably work the seams. He’s physical as a ball-carrier with strong balance through contact at the LOS. He has strong hands over the middle and is a solid run blocker that can help seal edges against SS/OLBs. Arboit’s drawn interest from Weber St. and Yale.
Jaden Smith
Jaden Smith
Smith’s a speedy, quick-twitch receiver that can operate as the 2 or 3 inside. He’s a natural athlete that’s slippery with the ball in space and can separate from defenders at the second/third levels. He shows patience and vision reading blocks and finding lanes in the return game. Smith’s an undersized WR prospect but holds potential in his natural speed and athleticism.
