Chase Lowary
Chase Lowary
Lowary was one of San Diego’s most productive tacklers and biggest stock-risers at the LB position this season. He likes to get downhill through interior gaps and create negative plays in the run game. He uses his hands to fight through contact and aggressively seeks out ball-carriers. He can track the ball laterally and shows a high motor to the football making plays towards the sidelines. Lowary’s picked up offers from Valparaiso, Morehead St., and Fort Lewis since November.
Devine’s likely the most athletic LB available in San Diego after the Early-Signing period. He was one of the more effective two-way players in the section as a RB/OLB this season. He provides speed, change-of-direction, and short-area quickness as a tackler on the perimeter. He can make plays covering in shallow areas and closes space quickly towards the flat. Devine offers promising athletic versatility and upside at 6’4”/215. He holds offers from NAU, Air Force, Navy, and Puget Sound.
Jake Sinz
Jake Sinz
Sinz plays with high-level physicality and tenacity from his ILB spot. He’s a violent, productive tackler that attacks downhill with speed and intent. He’s effective at shedding blocks at the LOS with leverage, quickness, and violent hands and can bully interior OL with downhill power/strength. He shows initial burst in his first step and can get in the backfield quickly to create negative plays. Sinz picked up a D-II offer from Grand Valley State and was offered a PWO spot with Wisconsin in December.
Vincent Friend
Vincent Friend
Friend was a two-year starter for a Mater Dei Catholic team that’s won two straight state championships. He’s an active defender that can make plays as an ILB and out on the edge. He’s an effective blitzer that can get through interior gaps and pressure the pocket. He’s an aggressive downhill tackler that reacts and flies to the football near the LOS. He plays with his eyes and diagnoses plays quickly as an off-ball LB. Friend’s picked up D-II offers from Black Hills St. and West Liberty since late December.
Cooper Mau
Cooper Mau
Mau’s a rangy playmaker from his ILB spot that totaled 5 INTs as a senior. He shows good feel and movement in coverage, flashing lateral agility and change-of-direction. He keeps active feet while diagnosing plays and eludes blockers working up to the second level. He’s constantly working toward the football and will make pure effort plays across the field. Mau’s picked up several D-III and NAIA offers since December including Lewis & Clark, College of Idaho, Culver-Stockton, Carleton College, Linfield, McPherson, and Concordia.
Sean Farish
Sean Farish
Farish is a long, physical athlete at 6’3”/215 that made plays as an ILB and wing/h-back on offense. He’s effective defending the run between the tackles and can get after the QB as a pass-blitzer. He’s a versatile piece on offense that can catch and run routes as a TE/WR/wing and offers physicality in space as a ball-carrier. He’s a crafty playmaker that shows vision finding running lanes and drives his legs through contact. Farish’s athletic upside translates well to either side of the ball at the next level but might best maximize his talent and skillset on offense.
