Review:
A team that has their season defined by dominant wins and closely contested loses the Falcon of Vallivue are heading in the right direction. After back to back playoff appearances this squad is starting to really come together. If you look at their schedule you will see other than a big lose to the state runner up each of the Falcons loses were close competitions that could have gone either way. As a team that is looking to make a name for themselves in the 4A rankings playing some of the top teams in the conference tough is a step in the right direction. Known for a ground and pound offense like many other schools in the 4A ranks this Falcon team was able to lean heavily on the likes of a star running back. Winning the player of the year in the SIC the senior was able to run around, over and away from opposing defenses all season. It will be hard to replace a player of his caliber but Vallivue always seems to have one waiting in the wings. Starting a young quarterback this season could pay off immensely as it gives him time to grow under center and with an offensive line who understands how to move defenders it will be a sight to behold in years to come. Defensively you could describe a team that really plays for each other. It’s sort of a cliche to say that they play team defense but the Falcons are the embodiment of it. Using sure tackling along with stout play in their front seven the Falcons used gang tackling and constant pressure to make it hard to score points this season. This team will be remembered as another step in the right direction for a program that is on the cusp of making some real noise in the 4A ranks. Ending the season with a big win against a 5A program in Boise and giving a Minco squad all they could handle in the first round shows that the Falcons are knocking at the door.
