Review:
After moving down to the 4A level this season the Skyview Hawks played one of the tougher schedules in the state. Playing three 5A teams this season is tough when your enrollment takes a hit. Still the Hawks were able to put up some huge numbers this year even though they struggled early on in the season. The Hawks have not ever really had a hard time putting points on the board but when a lot of your top players are in the underclass this young team took some lumps as it was figuring it out. Still the Hawks boasted one of the top signal callers in the state who had one heck of a career at Skyview. He will go down as one of the best to ever do it for the Nampa based school. Using a devastating passing game the Hawks showed that they have some really talented wide receivers who will be returning for them this upcoming season. Balanced enough in the run game the will have to replace an all conference running back who was good at finding running room when it looked closed and was a threat out of the back field. Offensive line is always going to be a premium in high school football and the Hawks had a really good group. Where the Hawks are going to make their biggest jump is on defense that has a bunch of young players starting for them this season. At linebacker they bring back a first team all league sophomore who is going to wreak havoc on the competition in the new year. A good defensive line who creates problems for opposing offenses. At defensive back they have some serious ballhawks that are going to give opposing quarterbacks nightmares. Even though the record wasn’t what it has been in the past I would not count out Skyview next season. They will be one of the teams to watch out for as they have the players to turn their record around and a coaching staff that has been dedicated to Skyview football for a long time. The turn around is coming and the league should be paying attention to the Nampa school.
