Although our focus is shifting away from the 23’s, I felt the need to highlight these prospects who are still flying under the radar, but can without a doubt help a college team at the next level.
So without further ado, let’s get to know five of the best prospects from Lake County who remain uncommitted…
Miller’s senior season is one of the more statistically impressive outputs in Lake County history. He amassed over 2,681 all-purpose yards along with 29 total touchdowns. It’s rather confusing why he hasn’t racked up more offers and is still on the market. Not only are his numbers otherworldly, but he’s also a phenomenal athlete who’s physically built for the rigors of college football. He’s an explosive runner who hits top speed in a blink of an eye and can be a load to bring down once he gets downhill. Not only is he dangerous out the backfield as a running back, he’s also a more-than-reliable receiver who at 6’2″ 195lbs can cause matchup problems for defensive backs with his size and blazing speed.

Turner was without a doubt one of the more productive defensive backs in Lake County during the 2022 season. His athleticism is through the roof and he is more than capable of covering the field from sideline-to-sideline. Plays with great awareness and physicality and does an excellent job at taking the proper angle to the ball carrier. He’s a sure of a tackler as they come and packs a heckuva punch when lining up his opponent.

I was highly impressed when I got a chance to see Gavric put up over 100 yards receiving and 2 touchdowns in less than a half this past season. He’s an extremely confident player with the skills to back it up. An above-average route runner who’s adept at creating separation. Can pile up the YAC and almost always makes the first defender miss. Gavric can be absolute steal for any program at the next level.

Lennon is a no-nonsense north-south type of runner who had a productive all-conference finish to his senior season at Antioch. I got a chance to see him multiple times this past season and can attest that he’s one of the toughest runners that played in Lake County this past season. Possesses good vision and penitence to find holes to run through and punishes defenders with his bruising running style.

I saw some footage of Payne from one of our recent showcases, and in my opinion, he looked like one of the more polished defensive backs in attendance. Flashed quick feet and the ability to quickly change directions. Has good speed and loose hips which enables him to turn and run with with most receivers. Payne is just an all-around athlete who could also contribute on the offensive side of the ball as a receiver. It’s safe to say that Payne’s best football is ahead of him.
