Zayden Michel Zayden Michel 6’3″ | 250 lbs | DL Holy Trinity | 2023 State NY was a really important piece to a dominant Holy Trinity defense. Michel’s strong season led to an offer from Lock Haven. Michel does his best work from the defensive end position and he does an incredible job of rushing the passer. Michel has really solid instincts off the snap and has really solid athleticism off the edge. Michel’s strong season jumps him up our rankings and helped him pick up an offer from Lock Haven.

Highlights
Eric Jennings Jr. is a thick defensive tackle that has great movement and get off the ball. Jennings Jr. does a great job of attacking the chest of lineman and gaining control at the point of attack. Jennings Jr. has incredible strength and his strong base led to many plays at the LOS. One of the most dominant interior lineman in New York all season.

Charles Battaglia Charles Battaglia 6’0″ | 220 lbs | LB Chaminade | 2023 State NY was one of the most consistent defenders in the NYCHSFL this season, Battaglia picked up offers from Union, RPI, and Bryant after a strong senior season. A captain on his team, Battaglia showed leadership on the defensive side of the ball with his play. Consistent in his play Battaglia was consistent in the middle of the field for Chaminade. Battaglia’s ability to be an effective defender against the run, shedding blocks, and fighting through tight spaces to makes plays in addition to his ability to drop into zone coverage and read the quarterback well makes for a extremely well rounded player who can be very impactful as a defender at the next level.

Khamani Hunter Khamani Hunter 5’11” | 175 lbs | WR Franklin D. Roosevelt | 2023 State NY was one of the most electric athlete this season. Hunter an impact player on both sides of the ball committed to Trinity college after an elite season for FDR. With elite speed Hunter is a big play threat on every snap and he has an incredible wingspan which helps him attack the ball and the air and win on either side of the ball. Hunter’s best trait is what he can do with the ball in his hands. His speed and upfield burst are on another level. Hunter can be an impact player on either side of the ball at the next level but it is going to be hard to keep his athleticism off the field.

Jose Hernandez Jose Hernandez 6’0″ | 290 lbs | OL Erasmus Hall | 2023 State NY played mostly center for the best offensive line in New York at Erasmus Hall. Hernandez does a great job of getting to the second level as a center using a strong base to effectively block guys who are quicker. Hernandez plays with incredible consistency, he is really good at making quality blocks and not being overaggressive allowing lineman back into the play. Hernandez is one of the most consistent remaining lineman available and he just recently picked up his first collegiate offer from Western Connecticut.

Nathaniel Teska-Prince Nathaniel Teska-Prince 6’3″ | 275 lbs | OL Institute of Technology Central (ITC) | 2023 State NY was moved all over the line for ITC but his best play came at right tackle. As a tackle Teska-Prince has the size and lower body agility to be a really effective pass blocker at the next level. In the run game, Teska-Prince uses a strong upper body to control defenders and does a really good job of finishing blocks. One of his most unique traits is his ability to block in open space, with really good size for the next level Teska-Prince is a really good blocker in space and can run 15+ yards downfield with skill players as a leader blocker. The Hobart commit had a really strong senior season earning him a few offers, a jump up our rankings, and a commitment to the next level.

Jason Delacruz Jason Delacruz 6’1″ | 265 lbs | OL Moore Catholic | 2023 State NY is another really consistent center prospect from New York. Delacruz moves well and gets to linebackers really quick. Delacruz does a really good job of using his hands and upper body strength to control blockers and never overextends keeping his control at peak strength. As a pass blocker Delacruz does a good job of finding work as a center and passing off blocks to his guards. Rarely will you see Delacruz out of position or not finding work. On pass reps he is one of the most active centers in all of New York. Delacruz has been stacking offers after a strong senior season and holds opportunities from Utica, Husson, William Paterson, Misericordia, and an preseason offer from Kenyon.

Jadon Margulies Jadon Margulies 6’3″ | 240 lbs | OL Hewlett | 2023 State NY is one of the best blockers coming out of Long Island, An extremely well-rounded athlete Margulies is a mauler as a run blocker. Margulies consistently is not just making impactful blocks but he consistently takes guys to the ground. Margulies strong play has led to a bunch of offers at the next level from programs such as Hamilton, Union, Washington, Middlebury, Carnegie Mellon, Chicago, Colby, and Wesleyan.

John Breedy III John Breedy III 6’0″ | 295 lbs | DL Aquinas | 2023 State NY is an incredible physical defensive tackle. The Aquinas defender has incredible quickness off the snap and does a really good job of winning with that quickness. As a 300lb defensive tackle Breedy III also has really good strength and his size makes him really difficult for lineman to move. Breedy III has the size to be an effective run defender as a Nose Tackle but also can offer production as a pass rusher because of that quickness. Breedy III has leveraged a strong career and season season into offers from University of Rochester and a (PWO) from Mercyhurst.

Patrick Pasho III Patrick Pasho III 6’1″ | 285 lbs | OL Baldwinsville | 2023 State NY is one of the more athletically gifted lineman in New York. Pasho is a lean 285lbs that is filled with great core strength. Versatile across the entire offensive line Pasho III is the type of player who can excel plugged in anywhere. His combination of strength and agility allow him to excel moving to the second level and finishing blocks on the interior. Pasho III also has really good instincts when it comes to coming off double teams and moving his blocks up the field. Pasho III has a few offers after a strong senior season from Endicott, Cortland, Westminster, and Mount Union.

Tyrone Julot Tyrone Julot 6’2″ | 250 lbs | OL Erasmus Hall | 2023 State NY was a very talented tackle on a stacked Erasmus Hall offensive line. Julot has incredible length at 6-4 and a 6-8 wingspan. He is a little lean at 260lbs but he is an incredible athlete who can block in open space and excels connecting with linebackers and defensive backs at the next level. Julot may not be the strongest lineman but he uses leverage and his quickness to beat defenders with his hands and get incredible positioning off the snap. Julot has great potential at the next level and in an Erasmus Hall offense that featured a lot of downhill gap running schemes Julot has plenty of tape on being an effective run blocker. However, where is potential lies on the outside is as a pass blocker where his length allows him to keep defenders at reach and in control.

Carson Ciancuielli Carson Ciancuielli 6’1″ | 275 lbs | OL St. Anthonys | 2023 State NY is getting some very warranted late recruiting attention with recent offers from local D1 schools Wagner and LIU. Ciancuielli had an incredible season being named 1st team all-state and the lineman of the year for St. Anthony’s, the #1 team in New York. Ciancuielli may not be the tallest or the biggest but he has the best fundmentals of any lineman in New York. Ciancuielli was dominant for St. Anthony’s in a league that features several D1 level defensive lineman. All season Ciancuielli took on difficult assignments and handles them with ease. His footwork and use of his upper body is so advanced that at the next level Ciancuielli will already be a step ahead of most offensive lineman.

Nick Jordan Nick Jordan 5’10” | 175 lbs | WR Canarsie | 2023 State NY is probably the best playmaker in New York that you have not heard about. After spending his Junior season at Moore Catholic, Jordan played for Canarsie this season, a team that features a bunch of high level D1 talent. Jordan should be included in that conversation. Jordan is elite speed and welcomes physicality. Not often do you see guys with speed like Jordan put their head down and run through defenders. Jordan is a really solid receiver who not only catches the ball with his hands but knows how to attack the ball at the catch point. Jordan’s speed alone can make him an impact player at the next level and his physicality and athleticism show that he could not only develop into a really well rounded threat on offense but as a special teams weapon.

The recent Brockport commit, Thomas Nazaruk Thomas Nazaruk 6’2″ | 260 lbs | OL Half Hollow Hills West | 2023 State NY was an exceptional player for Half Hollow Hills West. Nazaruk is one of the smoothest pass blockers in New York. Nazaruk has incredible footwork and does a great job of mirroring edge rushers. Nazaruk is also really powerful with his initial punch. On pass rush reps Nazaruk is not afraid to initiate contact and control the engagement with a defender. Nazaruk also does a fantastic job of using leverage and angles to his advantage as a blocker which is why at just 250lbs he is extremely impactful in the run game.
