The 2024 running back class is a talented one and contains several potential division one prospects. Today we are going to throw a few names you are already familiar and a few more that you should get familiar with before the 2023 football season.
Braylen Russell Braylen Russell 6'2" | 190 lbs | RB Benton | 2024 State AR -Running Back-Benton
Russell is a running back that mixes his speed well with the ability to run opposing defenders over. The Benton running back is a patient runner. He does an excellent job of allowing a rushing lane to develop before taking off through the hole. Russell does a good job of catching the ball out of the backfield and making plays with the ball. He is a running back that gets better as the game progresses. It will be a busy recruiting season for the Benton running backs over the next few months.
Jalen Dupree Jalen Dupree 6'1" | 210 lbs | RB Malvern | 2024 State AR -Running Back-Malvern
The Malvern running back has put together two impressive football seasons in a row. In 2022, his state championship game performance will be talked about for years to come. Dupree has the potential to light up Friday nights again this fall. Dupree runs angry and looks to finish every run with him running through several attempted tackles. He can take the ball between the tackles or down the sideline. Dupree is another potential division one prospect that is going to have a busy couple of months from a recruiting perspective.
Kenny Jordan-Running Back-Pulaski Academy
Jordan is an extremely versatile running back that can line up all over the field for Pulaski Academy. He is mixes his impressive speed with a good mix of power when he runs. Jordan does a great job of breaking tackles. Once Jordan gets into the open field the chances of someone bringing him down are slim. Jordan has the ability to make people miss and break tackles. He is another running back that can carry the ball between the tackles or cut the run to the outside. Jordan is going to be an intriguing prospect to watch this upcoming season. He has the potential to play on Saturdays in the future.
Dennis Gaines Dennis Gaines 5'10" | 165 lbs | RB East Poinsett County | 2024 State AR -Running Back-East Poinsett County
Last season, Dennis Gaines Dennis Gaines 5'10" | 165 lbs | RB East Poinsett County | 2024 State AR had a tremendous season for East Poinsett County. Gaines does a great job of running through tackles and dragging defenders with him, He is impressive at allowing his blockers to create a rushing lane before exploding through the hole. Gaines just gets better as the game wears on. He is great at wearing a defense down and hitting them with the big play. Gaines is one of the most productive running backs in the state of Arkansas and I look for him to be a prospect that plays on Saturdays in the future.
-Running Back-Elkins
If you have not had the opportunity to see Chairs play, you will have the opportunity this season and I recommend taking advantage of it. Chairs has excellent speed, and he is impressive at making defenders miss. The versatility that Chairs has is what makes him tough for opposing defenses to contain. He does a great job of catching the ball out of the backfield. Chairs only gets better as the game wears on, and he is a running back that scouts should keep an eye on this coming season. I look for Chairs to have a busy offseason from a recruiting perspective.
