Many of these players had incredible 2022 seasons with some generating some recruiting buzz from their performance.

Torance Washington Jr Torance Washington Jr 5’10” | 165 lbs | WR Webster Schroeder | 2023 State NY is one of the most polished wide receivers coming out of New York State. Washington Jr is such a smooth athlete he very clearly stands out on tape. This season Washington Jr had 1,019 yards on 64 receptions, and 14 TDs making him on paper one of the top receivers in the state as well. Washington is a really good route runner and knows how to get open running a variety of route concepts. The strong senior season from Washington Jr led to offers from Lincoln, Stonehill, and Stony Brook (PWO).

Highlights
James Miller James Miller 5’10” | 170 lbs | DB Erasmus Hall | 2023 State NY is one of the many incredible talents on the Erasmus Hall defense and his strong coverage skills and positional versatility as an outside or slot corner make him a fantastic prospect at the next level. Miller does have a smaller frame at 5-10, 170lbs but his physicality has no regard for his size. Miller will fight through blocks and does a great job of making tackles in the open field. A physical cornerback who can also excel in man or zone coverage is something that teams will covet and Miller has started to pick up some offers with recent opportunities from Utica, Cortland, and Seton Hill.

Vincent Firenze Vincent Firenze 6’4″ | 205 lbs | DB West Genesee | 2023 State NY played really well on both sides of the ball but his play on the defensive side of the ball has led to a couple offers at the next level. Firenze is long and lean at 6-4, 205lbs and has incredible range as a safety or an OLB in coverage. Firenze had 107 Tackles, 6 Sacks, 4 INT’s which just is a compliment to how well rounded his skillset is. Firenze can attack the quarterback as a pass rusher or on the blitz but also be sticky with some of the best wide receivers in New York in coverage. Offers from Mercyhurst, Stonehill, Stony Brook (PWO), and Buffalo (PWO) cap off a strong senior season.

RaeJoughn Yeomas RaeJoughn Yeomas 5’10” | 200 lbs | LB University Prep | 2023 State NY is a really tough playmaking linebacker for UPrep who played all season with an an injury. Regardless of his injury Yeomas was a dominating factor on the UPrep defense. Yeomas has great instincts diagnosing the run and does a great job of working through blocks to get to the ball carrier. Yeomas is also a really solid tackler and does a good job of not letting backs get extra yards falling forward. Yeomas is one of the best remaining linebackers in this class and he has great potential as he develops his game.

Vincenzo Verdi Vincenzo Verdi 6’1″ | 275 lbs | OL Long Island Lutheran | 2023 State NY is a really strong center who has really solid fundamentals in all aspects of the game. With offers from LIU, Sacred Heart, and Hamilton College Verdi earned some opportunities at the next level after a strong season of play that led to Verdi being named Second-Team All State. Verdi is a solid blocker in the run game and does a good job of getting control of defenders with his hand placement. Verdi also is a really solid long snapper and could take up that role at the next level.

Zahill Campbell Zahill Campbell 5’8″ | 185 lbs | ATH A. Phillip Randolph | 2023 State NY was a stat machine for A. Phillip Randolph and played his best games in the biggest moments. Campbell had 1,451 rushing yards and 19 Touchdowns in 2022. Campbell is a really smooth athlete that is so fast that he just glides by defenders. Campbell is limited in size at 5-8, 180lbs but he runs much bigger and easily breaks through arm tackles around the line of scrimmage. One of Campbell’s best traits is his vision. Campbell is routinely able to find open space and get extra yardage through traffic.

Tysheed Crockton Tysheed Crockton 5’11” | 175 lbs | ATH Canandaigua | 2023 State NY was one of the most dangerous players in Rochester this past season. 51 receptions, 913 yards, 11 TDs during the 2022 season show that Crockton had the type of role and responsibility that garner’s attention. Crockton is a great route runner and has really reliable hands. Crockton has some really solid positional versatility has he can line up at any wide receiver position. Crockton has great yard after the catch ability and his involvement in the short passing game where he turns 5-10 yard gains into much more is a standout trait.

Cureem Hathcock Cureem Hathcock 5’11” | 195 lbs | RB Bennett | 2024 SC is one of the most underrated running backs in New York. Hathcock was a really important piece on a stacked Bennett offense that eventually won the Class AA New York State title. Hathcock was a workhose back for Bennett and although his full season stats are not publicly available in the first six games of the season Hathcock dominated with 81 carries, 923 yards, and 8TDs. Hathcock does a great job of breaking through tackles and mainting his balance through his runs. Hathcock has really good speed but his best athletic trait is his ability to accelerate quickly.

Terrance Robinson Jr Terrance Robinson Jr 5’9″ | 160 lbs | RB Longwood | 2023 State NY had a great year for Longwood registering 126 carries, 1229 yards, 12TDs. Robinson Jr has incredible breakaway speed and is a big pay threat every time he touches the ball. Robinson Jr has really good agility and one-cut moves through the hole. Robinson Jr on any given play can take what looks like a 3-4 yard gain into a 25+ yard gain. Robinson Jr’s strong play led to an offer from Utica to continue playing at the next level.

John Caufield John Caufield 6’0″ | 205 lbs | DB Monsignor Farrell | 2023 State NY is a really solid defensive back who earned second team all-state honors for class AA. Caufield played both RB and Safety for Monsignor Farrell and excelled on both sides of the ball. However, as a defender Caufield was one of the best in the NYCHSFL. Caufield is both a strong tackler from the safety position but also does a good job of performing his zone responsibilities and matching up 1v1 in man coverage. Caufield is a really good athlete with solid size and really good instincts. A well rounded player like Caufield is one of the most consistent well rounded players in this recruiting class. A recent offer from Lock Haven was a result of a strong senior season for Caufield.
