Several of the state’s non-scholastic/all-star organizations have sorted out their rosters and are preparing for their first tournaments of the spring season.
Baton Rouge-based F3 Elite, in its fourth year, has become one of Louisiana’s most talent-rich, particularly around the Capital City area.
Here were a few standouts from the offensive side of the ball who stood out at a recent workout/showcase event.

Daniel Beale Daniel Beale 6'2" | 190 lbs | QB Catholic (Baton Rouge) | 2024 State LA (6-3, 195 QB | Catholic High (Baton Rouge) | 2024)
The Catholic (Baton Rouge) passer has officially gone from “Baby Beale” to the old man on the block, as the area’s and state’s lauded 2023 quarterback class moves on to college. The veteran showed great poise and decision-making from the time he was abruptly thrown into varsity duty midway through his freshman season and has only continued to develop into a more and more confident playmaker ever since, including recent recognition as the LSWA’s Class 5A All-State quarterback. Beale was, naturally, the most consistent quarterback on the day, including a couple absolute dimes on deep balls.
The program is stocked heavily with intriguing younger passers as well with varying degrees of varsity experience, such as 2025 prospects Tylan Johnson Tylan Johnson 5'10" | 180 lbs | QB Madison Prep | 2025 State LA (Madison Prep), Jerry Horne Jerry Horne 6'2" | 205 lbs | QB Denham Springs | 2025 State LA (Denham Springs) and Caleb Gonzales Caleb Gonzales 5'10" | 170 lbs | QB Zachary | 2025 State LA (Zachary), who should have big springs and summers ahead on the 7-on-7 and camp circuits and recruiting trail.
Amari Clayton Amari Clayton 6'2" | 185 lbs | WR Catholic (Baton Rouge) | 2025 State LA (6-2, 190 WR | Catholic (Baton Rouge) | 2025)
This offseason and year overall should be big as well for Beale’s year-round teammate. The strong, sure-handed Clayton is a physical target who has shown a knack for making contested catches — including some highlight-reel grabs over defenders — when given the opportunity. And plenty of opportunities would appear to be on the horizon as one of the most established weapons on both the F3 and Catholic High rosters — as Shelton Sampson Shelton Sampson 6'4" | 185 lbs | WR Catholic (Baton Rouge) | 2023 State LA Jr. and Daniel Harden Daniel Harden 6'1" | 180 lbs | WR Catholic (Baton Rouge) | 2023 State LA head to college — with a quarterback with whom he possesses strong chemistry.
Granville Anderson II Granville Anderson II 5'10" | 180 lbs | ATH University Lab | 2024 State LA (5-9, 175 ATH | University Lab | 2024)
The record-setting U-High receiver, who caught 60 passes this fall, consistently showed off his quick feet and attention to detail in his release and route-running to free himself for catches all over the field. Anderson said he is continuing to work on those strengths this offseason with a training focuses on speed and footwork and also prioritizing his diet to ensure he keeps his weight and strength up despite the heavy running of soccer season.
Semaj Pierre (5-7, 165 ATH | Madison Prep | 2025)
Another offensive weapon to watch is the speedy rising junior, who has garnered enough early 7-on-7 and varsity playing time to often appear to play veteran beyond his years with his demeanor and technique and seems to look a little bigger every time out. Pierre is smooth in his releases and routes and moved all over the formation in 7-on-7 drills and made confident catches all over the field with his hands out away from his body.
