Quarterback: Alex Jackson, Juab HS Sr.
Jackson help lead the Wasp to win the 3A State Championship while passing for 3,530 passing yards and 54 TDs. Jackson has good arm strength, accuracy and a good quick release as a passer. Good mobility around the pocket and to extend plays with his feet. A good talented player that has the potential to play at the college level.
Running Back: Emery Thorson, Richfield HS Sr.
Thorson’s athletic ability has earned him a spot on our 3A All State Team. An elusive runner that can pick, slide and accelerate to the hole on inside runs. Bend the corner and accelerate on outside runs. Good hands to catch out the backfield or lined up as receiver and is athletic after the catch avoiding tacklers to gain more yards. Finished the season with 150 carries for 978 yards and 15 TDs, a well balanced runner and receiver.
Running Back: Larson Pogroszewski, Manti HS Sr.
Pogroszewski rushed for 1,451 yards and 15 TDs with 421 yards receiving. He’s an athletic runner with good burst which allows him to pick, slide and accelerate to the hole. Good hands to catch out the backfield and as a receiver. Shows good balance bouncing off tacklers and runs after contact.
Wide Receiver: Gavin Turner, Morgan HS Sr.
Turner caught 62 receptions for 1,061 receiving yards this season. he’s an athletic player with good initial quickness coming out his stance. Good cutting ability to run short routes and find open areas in zone coverages. Good hands to catch the ball and is tough after the catch fighting for extra yards.
Wide receiver: Nick Macias, Canyon View HS Sr.
Macias finished the season with 63 receptions for 952 yards. He’s an athletic player with good initial quickness from his stance. Solid hands that can react and adjust to tough passes. Athletic after the catch avoiding tacklers to gain more yards. Has the athletic ability to run short and long routes.
Athlete: Wes Neilson, Juab HS Sr.
Wesley was a good offensive weapon for the Wasp helping them win their 3A State Championship. He’s an athlete with good hands and initial quickness to burst in his routes. Has good speed to run long routes and catch the ball in a crowd. Good cutting ability to run short routes and find open areas in zone coverage. Athletic after the catch avoiding tacklers to gain more yards. Good vision, quickness and acceleration to run in between the tackles.
