Justin Benton Justin Benton 6'3" | 245 lbs | DL Newton | 2023 State GA – EDGE – Newton
A prospect who has been on the recruiting scene for years now, Benton is an active defensive lineman with quickness off the snap. He’s technically sound and lived in the backfield last season as a senior. He’s tough, plays with balance, and knows how to shed blocks and get after the ball-carrier. A long-time West Virginia commitment, the 6-foot-1 280-pounder flipped his commitment on Wednesday and decided to commit to Houston. The Cougars now have one of the top defensive line prospects west of Atlanta on board, which means an improved pass-rush for thee Houston defense moving forward.
Tavion Gadson Tavion Gadson 6'4" | DL Jenkins | 2023 State GA – DL – Jenkins
One of the top interior defensive line prospects not only in Savannah, but across South Georgia, the big, powerful defensive tackle out of Jenkins High School made his commitment public today, signing with Kentucky over Florida State, giving the Wildcats a raw but promising defender with a high ceiling. He’s a dominant run defender who is quick off the snap and can blow up a running play before it starts. At 6-foot-4 280-pounds, Gadson has his best football ahead of him and coming off a strong senior season where he made 40 tackles to go along with 5 QBH and three sacks through eight games. He has a lot of potential to grow into an impactful interior defensive lineman, and he’ll get his shot at an up and coming SEC program at Kentucky.
Kayin Lee Kayin Lee 6'0" | 160 lbs | DB Cedar Grove | 2023 State GA – DB – Cedar Grove
One of the top overall defensive backs across Georgia in the 2023 class, the Cedar Grove cornerback is a true playmaker in the secondary and has held major D1 offers for over two years now. A hard-hitting cornerback with natural cover skills, Lee was a former Georgia commitment early in the process, but would eventually open up his recruitment and commit to Ohio State. He committed to the Buckeyes back in late June, so for almost six months, he’s been committed to Ohio State. After an official visit to Auburn in early December, Lee decided top make=e the flip and sign on to play new new head coach Hugh Freeze and the Tigers. It’s a program that needs young talent who can play early, and Lee will give them plenty of talent to work with. Look for him to push the other defensive backs in front of him when he gets to campus.
Taye
Taye Seymore Taye Seymore 6'1" | 195 lbs | LB Lithia Springs | 2023 State GA – LB – South Atlanta
One of the top three-way players in the Atlanta area this year, Seymore is coming off a giant senior season where he made 63 tackles, 3 sacks and 2 QB hurries to go along with 3 forced fumbles, two INTS and two pass-breakups. A versatile defender who can play safety or linebacker, Seymore is a good athlete and brings a physical presence along with impressive cover skills down the field. He was a tackling machine as a junior, making 150 tackles and 11 TFLs. He was a East Carolina commitment for a little over five months, but a late offer by Georgia Tech in October gave Seymore an opportunity to stay local and play for the nearby Yellow Jackets in Atlanta. He decommitted from East Carolina on December 8th, and today he ended his recruitment and signed with Georgia Tech.
