With the beginning of the camp season just around the corner, many players will undoubtedly make their way onto recruiting radars during the 2023 season. For the seniors who have yet to commit, this camp season will be a way for them to prove their value as potential recruits for programs still looking for prospects from the class of 2023.
This article will look at seven linemen from both sides of the ball to look out for at camps and during the fall season.
Bird is a sleeper defensive end who garnered a lot of attention during his senior season. His frame and wingspan make him an instant standout, while his speed and athleticism solidify his place beneath the spotlight. One of the many things about Bird that make him a dominant player is his understanding of the game, which allows him to break down what the offense is trying to accomplish.
It is rare that a player from a different state lands on the radar from in-person evaluations, but Smith is one who showed up from Indiana and showed out immediately. One of the biggest takeaways the coaches had from his camp performance was how well he moves for an undersized lineman. Smith is a prime candidate for collegiate programs looking for a player who can move well with elite techniques over pure size.
Caplan is easily one of the top offensive linemen in his class and arguably one of the best in the state altogether. He has the perfect mixture of size, power, and technique that help him stand out among the crowd. His ability to improve his performance from rep to rep is a testament to his dedication to the sport and his craft, ensuring he stays on the path to becoming one of the top overall recruits in the state. Caplan is a player who instantly adds significant depth to any offensive line.

Brakemeier is a rising prospect with a bright future ahead of him. He is a player who checks all the boxes that programs look for in potential recruits, making him a must-know lineman. His size, power, and football IQ give him excellent stock value as a prospect. His overall athleticism allows him to stand out on either side of the ball. After seeing Brakemeier in person, it is no surprise that he has garnered attention from a handful of big-name programs.

Sturm is the type of player who always impresses whenever he is given the opportunity to showcase his skills. His precise movements and hand strikes give him an advantage against defenders, especially in big-on-big situations. He has an impressive frame and formidable strength, which make him an ideal prospect for the offensive line. If consistency is key, consider Sturm a locksmith who knows how to get the job done.

Damien Crowe Jr
Crowe Jr is a young player who immediately stands out because of his current size, but his frame suggests that he has quite the growth ahead of him. He has explosive movements, especially when moving laterally and bending around the edge of the offensive line. His overall power and strength make him a problematic defender to stop. Crowe Jr is still an underclassman, so he has barely begun to scratch the surface of his full potential, making him a player to watch during his next two seasons.
