The 2024 newcomer is a high impact player that can impact the game on the defensive side and special teams with a high motor and good toughness. He is athletic in the box, scrapes over the top taking good angles downhill while bringing a nice thump at contact. He can set the edge on the outside, plays with violent hands and cover out of the backfield. Swearhart fits the mold of the new age linebacker and is very deserving to enter into the 2024 Idaho linebacker room.
Highlights
Holman is a very smart instinctual kid that can rush the passer and can play both inside and outside linebacker. The Junior was very active from the second level, taking good angles in the open field and showing some closing speed when collapsing the pocket. He has a quick trigger in the inside run game, taking on blockers and playing downhill while recognizing plays quickly. He is a high IQ kid with plus athleticism and twitchiness in the box that can play at the next level.
Burgess is one of the top Junior linebackers Idaho has to offer in the 2024 class and is very deserving of entering our rankings. He can be used on the edge when rushing the passer, or in the middle while solid against the run and adds some twitch when pass rushing. He is a big time hitter in-betwen the tackles and made the play of the year in the state championship game against Meridian, forcing a fumble which lead to a scoop and score to take down the than top team.
Teigen is a very active outside linebacker that can cover in the slot and apply pressure off the edge while brining good physicality in the box, especially for his size. He is a longer prospect that can still pack weight to his frame as he progresses through his prep career and is a kid that could make an even bigger impact next year as he progresses due to his raw abilities and untapped potential. He shows he has a strong feel for the game, a quick trigger and breaks well to ball carriers in space while showing plus athleticism and good open field tackling. In space, he flashes strong lateral movement abilities and can change direction quickly while playing with heavy hands and the ability to get off blocks.
