Continue ReadingIt’s been a fun week recapping and rehashing last Sunday’s PrepRedzoneMN Showcase action but sadly I’m nearing the conclusion of my content and only have two articles left to publish, this one included. We’ve covered the top testers, the standouts from positional groups, what coaches scouting the event are looking for, and the always-important Eye Test, and with the coverage winding down I’m excited to introduce a new feature to cover the top freshman and uncommitted seniors that brought their talents to Minnetonka last Sunday. I don’t know what I’m more excited about, the young bucks I got to see in person who are set to take over the scene in the coming years or the major additions to a recruiting class the 2023s are set to make. Either way, I can’t go wrong, and I’m excited to present the top freshman and uncommitted seniors who brought their talents to Minnetonka for our PRzMN Stockup Showcase. Happy Holidays!

All-Freshman Squad
Elijah Mitchell (Omaha North, NE) WR. 5’8, 177 lbs.
Represented Nebraska very well on Sunday. The freshman wideout from the Cornhusker State already has a muscular build and impressed me as a route runner and in his change of direction skills. He could cut on a dime and played at a much higher level than your typical freshman. Was comfortable and successful against upperclassman and will be a fun one to watch down in NE the next three seasons.
Beckham Wheeler Beckham Wheeler 6'4" | 205 lbs | QB Mounds View | 2026 MN (Mounds View) QB. 6’2, 188 lbs.
Could sling the rock a little bit and got me excited for his future. Solid arm strength and accuracy for his age and size.
Sawyer Josewski Sawyer Josewski 6'5" | 235 lbs | TE Rogers | 2026 MN (Rogers) QB/DL. 6’3, 188 lbs.
It’s always good to know the big kids, especially early, and Josewski is a large one and still growing. Coming from a strong Rogers Royals program you can bet they’ll know how to use his size well.
Logan O’Dea Logan O’Dea 6'5" | 225 lbs | WR St. Louis Park | 2026 MN (St. Louis Park) WR. 6’3, 183 lbs.
Notable size and good short-area quickness made me excited to continue to follow him as he grows into his size and frame more. Great length and comfortable catching the football.
Jerry Wise Jerry Wise 5'7" | 135 lbs | QB Park Center | 2026 MN (Park Center) QB. 5’5, 120 lbs.
Had a funky throwing motion but could really generate velocity and torque on his throws and did get most of his ball into his receivers hands with accuracy.
CAMAR BLADES (Park Center) WR. 5’8, 127 lbs.
Have covered Blades a ton this week and don’t want to repeat myself, but the Park Center first year had coaches raving and was twitched up, a natural at getting open, and an already impressive athlete for his age. Blades was electric on Sunday.
Justice Moody Justice Moody 5'8" | 160 lbs | WR St. Paul Johnson | 2026 State MN (St. Paul Johnson) WR. 5’7, 172 lbs.
Another shifty, athletic SB type receiver who showed a natural ability to get open and quickness off the LOS and at the top of the route.
James Engle James Engle 5'8" | 175 lbs | RB Maple Grove | 2026 State MN . (Maple Grove) RB/WR. 5’8, 155 lbs.
I’ve written about Engle Jr. a ton this week and don’t want to repeat myself, but the impressive Maple Grove freshman was confident and successful against upperclassman and was a nuanced and strong route runner with a thick build and soft hands. He was open all Sunday long during 1-on-1s.
Kaaleem Reiland Kaaleem Reiland 5'9" | 180 lbs | RB Kingsland | 2026 State MN (Kingsland) RB/WR.
Powerful, eye-popping build that passes the eye test with flying colors. Powerful out of his cuts, soft hands, and a versatile offensive weapon who showed up well against upperclassman and big school competition.
Owen Egge Owen Egge 5'10" | 165 lbs | WR St. Michael - Albertville | 2026 State MN (St. Michael-Albertville) WR. 5’9, 147 lbs.
Put up good testing numbers and was a deep threat during 1-on-1s and big play threat as a wideout.
Kaden Harney Kaden Harney 6'3" | 185 lbs | QB Maple Grove | 2026 State MN (Maple Grove) QB.
I liked Harney’s throwing motion, arm strength, and general accuracy from the limited reps I saw him in at the ‘Tonka Dome. Showed some real potential.
Hans Pederson Hans Pederson 6'4" | 240 lbs | DL Buffalo | 2026 State MN (Buffalo) DL. 6’4, 215 lbs.
Legit and verified 6’4, 215+, clocked a 4.75 short-shuttle, and could physically hang and battle with upperclassman OL.
Noah Dietel Noah Dietel 6'6" | 295 lbs | OL Litchfield | 2026 State MN (Litchfield) OL. 6’6, 275 lbs.
Eye-popping, verified size, younger brother of an North Dakota State offensive lineman. Very high ceiling.
Braden Petzel Braden Petzel 6'9" | 240 lbs | OL Mankato East | 2026 State MN (Mankato East) OL. 6’8, 238 lbs.
A legit 6’8, 235+ and a basketball background make me very excited for Petzel to continue to grow into his body.
Alexander Reid Alexander Reid 6'5" | 280 lbs | OL Totino-Grace | 2026 MN (Totino-Grace) OL. 6’5, 297 lbs.
Massive body at a program that has developed and produced some excellent OL prospects over the years.
Daniel Tolson (Cretin-Derham Hall) WR.
I’ve talked about Tolson a lot recently so I’ll keep it short and to the point. Was dusting and embarrassing upperclassman DBs. Came alive and carries a fiery and competitive attitude that woke up during 1-on-1s. Natural, twitchy, sharpened route runner who could create separation at any point of the route. Stud.
All-Unsigned Senior Squad
Khalil Toney Khalil Toney 5'11" | 145 lbs | DB Champlin Park | 2023 MN (Champlin Park) DB. 5’10, 140 lbs.
The MVP of the entire DB group, Toney showed up and showed out and was strong in all three phases of Session 2: testing, positional drills and coaching, and 1-on-1 competition. Great speed (4.45, 4.59 40), smooth out of his breaks, and comfortable playing press or off-man coverage. Great showing and impressed a lot of coaches in attendance as well. No reported offers!
Ty Kosek Ty Kosek 6'0" | 170 lbs | WR Buffalo | 2023 MN (Buffalo) WR. 5’10, 166 lbs.
Caught my eye thanks to his noteworthy route-running capability and was especially dangerous when running double-moves to set up deep routes or shorter/intermediate routes with multiple breaks.
Ryan Warford Ryan Warford 6'0" | 190 lbs | QB Cretin-Derham Hall | 2023 MN (Cretin-Derham Hall) QB/ATH. 5’10, 187 lbs.
The CDH senior and utility tool posted solid testing numbers (~4.8 40, ~4.6 short-shuttle) and showed some good touch on his throws from the pocket. Holds a roster spot from Gustavus Adolphus.
Eddie Dossantos Eddie Dossantos 6'1" | 185 lbs | QB Providence Academy | 2023 MN (Providence Academy) QB. 6′, 185 lbs.
A favorite of coaches and scouts alike, PA Lions gunslinger Dossantos had a strong arm that could stretch the field and generate noticeable velocity on his shorter & intermediate throws. Mechanically sound and poised, his experience at the prep level was shining through in droves. St. Olaf, Luther, and UW-River Falls seem to be in the mix.
Devaun Simmons (South St. Paul) DB. 6′, 170 lbs.
Had noticeable length and knew how to use it. Athletic and efficient in short-area situations thanks to his quickness and basketball background. No reported interest or offers in either football or basketball.
Jake Pavek Jake Pavek 6'2" | 185 lbs | WR Detroit Lakes | 2023 MN (Detroit Lakes) WR. 6’2, 186 lbs.
Impressive athlete with strong testing numbers at a legit 6’2, 185+ pounds. Ran a 4.75 in the 40, 4.65 in the short-shuttle, and 9’4″ & 9’6″ in the broad jump. Could beat DBs in a variety of ways and through a variety of routes. Another standout athlete from the DL Lakers program. No reported interest or offers!
Aidan Jahns Aidan Jahns 6'3" | 185 lbs | ATH Rochester Lourdes | 2023 MN (Rochester Lourdes) DB. 6’2.5, 171 lbs.
Great size and was a legit coverage corner who picked off the most passes of any DB I saw during the 1-on-1 portion of Session 2. The ballhawk could easily break on passes all over the field, used his length well, and showed some loose hips. Dakota State and UM-Morris have reached out with offers so far.
Alim Kamara Alim Kamara DB Cretin-Detham Hall | 2023 MN (Cretin-Derham Hall) DB. 5’8, 150 lbs.
Smooth and fluid defensive back who could cover ground in his backpedal, not waste steps out of his breaks, and compete at the catch point in a variety of routes.
Newmann Thomas II Newmann Thomas II 5'9" | 165 lbs | RB Patrick Henry | 2023 MN (MPLS Patrick Henry) RB. 5’7, 160 lbs.
Fast, balanced, and explosive, Thomas II was an excellent representation of 612 football at last Sunday’s Showcase and excelled during competition, whether short-area 1-on-1 tracking situations or routes out of the backfield. Had soft hands for a RB as well.
Ej Mathis Ej Mathis 5'10" | 175 lbs | RB Totino-Grace | 2023 MN (Totino-Grace) RB. 5’11, 165 lbs.
Noticeable length, great testing numbers (4.62 40, 4.47 short-shuttle, 9’1″ broad), and used his speed well in 1-on-1s. Did well in every portion of the afternoon’s itinerary.
Carson Tait (Eau Claire-Regis, WI) WR. 5’11, 185 lbs.
One of my top WRs of the entire Showcase. Great routes, burnt DBs deep with ease, fast at the top-end and twitchy when creating separation, and tough. I saw him take a few whacks and hard falls and get back up right away looking for more. Had an excellent 1-on-1 showing in particular.
Stevie Mcmath Stevie Mcmath 6'0" | 170 lbs | WR BOLD | 2023 MN (BOLD) WR. 5’11, 168 lbs.
One of the fastest players at the whole event (4.45 40) and knew how to use it. Also could high point the football and possesses strong body control.
Hudson Fix Hudson Fix 6'0" Lourdes | 2023 MN (Rochester Lourdes) DB/WR.
Ran a 4.53 40 and has experience and success as both a CB and WR. Versatile, fast, and physical.
Malachi Kohls Malachi Kohls 6'3" | 230 lbs | OL Minnesota Valley Lutheran | 2023 MN (Minnesota Valley Lutheran) LB. 6’3, 232 lbs.
My pick for top uncommitted senior at the entire Showcase! Fantastic size and movement skills for a prep linebacker. An asset in coverage, could flip his hips and change direction, and good speed as well. I was impressed with his size, athleticism, and in him as a person. Could play very early in his college career.
Adam Johnstone Adam Johnstone 6'4" | 220 lbs | TE North Branch Area | 2023 MN (North Branch) OL/DL. 6’3, 225 lbs.
Great testing numbers for his size (4.88 40, 4.6 short-shuttle x2) that would be able to play LB at the next level and certainly at the prep level. Strong, great base, tons of fight, and heavy handed. Johnstone competed well in all three phases of Sunday’s Showcase.
