Isaac Genenbacher
Isaac Genenbacher
Mr. Genenbacher finished the game with 11 carries for 36 yards, 3 receptions for 49 yards with 1 TD, 10 tackles, and 0.5 TFLs on the day. This young man is a downhill style runner that can follow blocks well both on inside as well as outside the tackle runs. He also flashes his catch radius securing the catch in traffic right over the defender’s head to keep the sticks moving. At thee nd of the game, he was able to come away with the contested catch on a deep shot downfield to get into the endzone late in the game getting his team on the board, he then got the 2 point conversion as well. The game didn’t go the way he wanted but this young man has been nothing short of a workhorse working as a downhill runner that plays through contact.
Kadin Niekamp
Kadin Niekamp
Mr. Niekamp is going to be an up and coming player getting Varsity experience as a Freshman on the defensive line where he finished the night with 4 tackles and 0.5 TFLs. This young man was able to shoot gaps in goal line situations all day long to stuff the run inside the five forcing 4th and goals consistently. He was able to do so by getting quick out of his stance and use his active hand to disrupt plays in the backfield. When he wasn’t able to get on the stat line he was able to disrupt the play enough giving his teammates time to rally to the ball to secure the tackle in the hole. Be sure to keep an eye on how this young man develops over the next few seasons.
Ross Riley
Ross Riley
Mr. Riley finished the day with 10 carries for 54 yards and 1 tackle on the day. On offense, he was able to take a fullback dive on 4th and 1 to keep the chains moving. Throughout the day, he flashes his ability to play through contact to stay ahead of the sticks by keeping his feet driving through contact and through the whistle. There wasn’t a lot of opportunities for this young man to make his mark like he wanted to but he was able to flash the skill set that he has.
Hunter Louderback
Hunter Louderback
Mr. Louderback finished the day with 5 tackles on the day and did so by working gap to gap. Now, he didn’t come up in the stat sheet in other area’s but he was able to plug gaps in run support forcing the ball carrier to bounce plays outside and rally to the ball on the perimeter. This young man has potential for the next level to work as a run stopping linebacker, just needs the opportunity.
Elijah Genenbacher
Elijah Genenbacher
Mr. Genenbacher is the younger brother of Isaac and finished the day with 9 tackles and 1.0 TFL. This young man can flow to the ball well to secure tackles on the perimeter and can close quickly once he diagnoses the run. He also flashes his ability to work gap to gap at times which is one trait to keep an eye on moving forward. What I’m interested to see out of this young man moving forward is how quickly he can diagnose the run and close to meet the ball carrier in the hole for no gain. Currently, once he diagnoses the run he can meet the ball carrier in the hole but that’s after they already gained a few yards on the play. As he continues to develop and hone his craft, look to see where this traits falls next season and if he’s able to improve here it’ll elevate his game to another level.
Drew Paben
Drew Paben
Mr. Paben finished the game with 7 carries for 19 yards and 9 tackles on the defensive side of the ball. Once the ball is in his hands, he uses his burst through the hole to stay ahead of the sticks for his team. What’s going to be one to watch next season is how he performs being the main back now that standout Isaac Genenbacher is graduating. This is going to show what he can do with his full skill set and which traits will transition to the next level. Be sure to keep an eye on this young man as he flashes being a shifty elusive back at the moment.
