Review:
After making the playoffs off a magical run that saw them win 5 games last year this years team unfortunately could not get into the state playoff. Yet it should not take away from the talent and perseverance this team showed all season. Led by one of the best running backs in the state of Idaho the Lions were able to ground out tough yards all year behind their senior bulldozer. Using spread formations that really did a good job of making defense have to cover the entire field the Lions used a dominant run game mixed with a clever passing game in order to attack defenses all year. One of the most physical teams that you could come up against on a week in week out basis the Lions showed many in the SIC that they are here to compete for a playoffs spot. Defensively they used some unique alignments in order to confuse opposing offensive lines in the run game and athletic defensive backs that did a great job in coverage. What many coaches around the league talk about when it comes to the Lions is the effort that they give on every single play. It speaks to the heart of the team that they can say they left everything out on the field every single game. This team is full of fighters, players who no matter the score never seemed to give up they just continued to play each snap. The Lions are a team on the come up and should be a force in the future of the 5a SIC.
