1. Carlos Collazo Carlos Collazo 5'9" | 200 lbs | RB Aurora | 2023 State NE | 2023 | Aurora | 5’9″ 200 lbs
Stats: 192 carries, 2,044 rushing yards, 32 rushing touchdowns, 204.4 ypg.
– Workhorse back that uses his power running to wear down defense and explosiveness to hit the home run play.
– Great vision and change of direction.
– He plays with good pad level and a low center of gravity, making him very tough to tackle.
– Broke several school records this year and leaves Aurora as one of the more decorated players in school history.
2. Trent McCain Trent McCain 6'0" | 180 lbs | RB Ord | 2024 State NE | 2024 | Ord
Stats: 299 carries, 2,011 rushing yards, 24 rushing touchdowns, 167.6 ypg.
– Haven’t been able to find tape on Trent yet, but he stepped up nicely in the Ord offense.
– Lots of injuries around him, and he (and Ord) never flinched.
3. Sebastien Boyle Sebastien Boyle 5'11" | 210 lbs | RB Scottsbluff | 2024 State NE | 2024 | Scottsbluff | 6’0″ 210 lbs
Stats: 237 carries, 1,926 rushing yards, 26 rushing touchdowns, 160.5 ypg.
– He emerged as one of the top backs in Class B last year, and this year, he might’ve claimed the top spot.
– Big, strong, physical back that can plow through defenders and absorb hits.
– Moves very fluidly for being a big back. He sees and follows his blocks very well before exploding through his running lane.
4. Keenan Valverde Keenan Valverde 5'7" | 160 lbs | RB Pierce | 2024 State NE | 2024 | Pierce | 5’7″ 155 lbs
Stats: 146 carries, 1,900 rushing yards, 27 rushing touchdowns, 146.2 ypg.
– Keenan made a huge jump from his sophomore to junior year as the full-time starter. 288 rushing yards to 1,900!
– Valverde is a unique runner with the twitch and shiftiness of a smaller back, but he also runs tough in between the tackles.
– Keenan is just a very smooth back that seems to glide when he runs.
– A 2-time state champion in only his junior year.
5. Nick Colvert Nick Colvert 5'8" | 150 lbs | RB Bennington | 2023 State NE | 2023 | Bennington | 5’8″ 160 lbs
Stats: 234 carries, 1,751 rushing yards, 25 rushing touchdowns, 134.6 ypg.
– Key offensive player on two undefeated state championship teams.
– Insane twitch and field vision!
– Great all-purpose back. He had 20 receptions for 244 receiving yards and five receiving touchdowns. Lined up in the slot as well.
– Smart, hard-working football player that can make guys miss our use his strength to fall forward.
6. Cal Newell Cal Newell 6'1" | 195 lbs | RB Lincoln Southwest | 2023 State NE | 2023 | Lincoln Southwest | 6’0″ 200 lbs
Stats: 251 carries, 1,568 rushing yards, 20 rushing touchdowns, 142.5 ypg.
– Big-bodied back with overlooked burst and speed when he hits the second level.
– Usually, you can expect Cal to drop the shoulder and drive through a tackle attempt, but don’t sleep on how slick he can be on the field.
– Underrated receiving back as well. Get the ball in his hands in space, and he can work some magic.
7. Te’Shaun Porter Te’Shaun Porter 5'11" | 200 lbs | RB Omaha North | 2023 State NE | 2023 | Omaha North | Northwest Missouri State Commit
Stats: 185 carries, 1,532 rushing yards, 22 rushing touchdowns, 153.2 ypg.
– The Bearcats are getting a monster in Te’Shaun Porter Te’Shaun Porter 5'11" | 200 lbs | RB Omaha North | 2023 State NE .
– Porter is a bruising back that can run through defenders, break tackles, and grind away at a defense in between the tackles.
– A bruiser, but he has lots of elusiveness to his game. He sees the field very well and has a nice bag of moves to evade tackles.
– Nose for the end zone and is almost automatic near the goal line.
8. Karter Kerkman Karter Kerkman 6'0" | 190 lbs | RB Norfolk Catholic | 2023 State NE | 2023 | Norfolk Catholic | 6’1″ 195 lbs
Stats: 151 carries, 1,518 rushing yards, 27 rushing touchdowns.
– This guy is a beast
– He’s a very physical player that plays with a tough edge. Mean stiff arm.
– Patient runner that allows his blocks to play out and then accelerates in a flash.
– Fresh off a Class C2 state championship win.
9. Cole Ballard Cole Ballard 6'0" | 190 lbs | RB Elkhorn South | 2023 State NE | 2023 | Elkhorn South | 6’0″ 190 lbs
Stats: 158 carries, 1,491 rushing yards, 32 rushing touchdowns, 135.4 ypg.
– All-around BALLER!
– Cole will leave Elkhorn South as one of the most prolific runners in school history. 3-year varsity starter.
– Very good vision with elite balance to stay upright.
– Ballard has very quick feet that can cut and shift on a dime.
– Great receiving back out of the backfield!
10. Quentin Morris Quentin Morris 5'8" | 165 lbs | RB Centura | 2023 State NE | 2023 | Centura | 5’9″ 170 lbs
Stats: 195 carries, 1,413 rushing yards, 18 rushing touchdowns, 157 ypg.
– Good mix of powerful, angry running with speed and shiftiness.
– Quentin does a great job pumping his legs and maintaining his balance through contact. Very hard to bring him down.
– He is patient coming off the tackle before hitting the next gear and breaking away or planting his foot and cutting back the other way.
