Defensive linemen are often entangled with offensive linemen and defensive back’s primary job is to cover. A linebacker’s job is to tackle. If you can’t do that, then you aren’t a linebacker. Nice form tackles, aggressive tackles with technique are the beef in your taco when it comes to a highlight video. These recruits listed below had a great season with solid tackles on film. Football is an aggressive game and tackling as such, will grab the attention of college coaches and evaluators. This will be part one of a two part series.
Ryan Hines is 6ft. 195lbs positioned at linebacker for his team during the 2022 season. He totalled 119 tackles, 4 sacks and 23 tackle for losses during his season. He uses good leverage when attacking line of scrimmage blockers. He is a striker and tackles through the body with security. He plays physical and aggressive. Has good field awareness and reacts quickly to pass or run. He is quick when shooting gaps. He is also a very good baseball player for his High school team.
Zakkai Moore is 5’9″ 185lbs. He was positioned at RB and OLB for his team during the 2022 season. He played in 11 games. He had 13 tackle for losses, 46 solo tackles with 80 assisted tackles for a total of 126 total tackles during the season. He holds a 4.4 GPA. Has completed a 245lbs power clean. His performance helped earn him first team all state defensive honors.
He tackles with a wrap and roll technique. Shows strength at point of attack and to move the pile. He has good pass drop, cover awareness. He can transition and react to pass or run quickly. He plays with toughness in a motor.
John Insinga is 6’2″ 200lbs. who was positioned as a linebacker for his team this season. He has a recorded 4.7 time 40yrd. He had 17 tackles for losses and, totaled 86 solo tackles with 63 assisted tackles for a total of 149 tackles during the season. He has a 3.35 GPA. His performance this season earned him Walter camp Football All-Connecticut First Team honors.
He shows very good pass awareness with the ability to drop in the coveragequickly. He tackles through the body. He is strong at the point of attack. Has good quickness and speed in his skill set. He can cover sideline to sideline. A disruptive linebacker when shooting gaps.
Nick St. George was positioned at LB and RB for his team this season. In 2022, He played in 13 games and totaled 181 tackles. He has a timed 40yrd of 4.9 and a timed 100 meter speed of 11.7.
He is a relentless LB with a motor. He appears hard nosed and tough on film. He shows he understands pursuit angles and can close time and space in an instant. He has flexibility that allows him to recover and still make a play if he over pursues.
Joshua Harrison Joshua Harrison 5’7″ | 165 lbs | RB Shepherd Hill Ma. | 2024 New E is 5’7″ 154lbs. During the 2022 season, he played in 10 games. He had 57 solo tackles and 64 assisted tackles for a total of 121 tackles.
