Michael Turner led the way among running backs with 2,114 yards, carrying the ball a mind-boggling 314 times.
But the Tri-Center senior was far from the only standout in the classification.
Here is a look at the all-state running backs from Class A, along with the honorable mention selections:
First Team – Michael Turner – Tri-Center – Senior
You just cannot ignore the production here from Michael Turner. To carry the ball over 300 times in a season it just incredible, and to average nearly seven yards per carry while doing so, well, that warrants first team all-state status. Turner scored 29 touchdowns on the year in the process.
The Trojans battled their way to the state playoffs behind Turner, who also caught five passes for 46 yards. He made 25.5 tackles on defense, had two interceptions and scored both on a pick-6 and a kickoff return.
Second Team – Corder Noun Harder Corder Noun Harder 5'9" | 155 lbs | RB Lynville-Sully | 2024 State IA – Lynnville-Sully – Junior
One of the best junior running backs in the state, Carter Noun Harder helped Lynnville-Sully record a deep postseason run. He carried the rock 171 times, racking up 1,896 yards with 27 touchdowns. That comes out to 11 yards per carry despite defenses knowing he was going to be getting the ball.
The Hawks will be looking to make a return next year to the UNI-Dome after reaching the semifinals. Harder also caught 13 passes for 160 yards and two scores, making 30 tackles with two interceptions on defense. He returned both of those picks for TDs and also had a kickoff return for another score and three punt returns for TDs.
Third Team – Kaden Amigon Kaden Amigon 6'0" | 185 lbs | ATH Columbus | 2024 State IA – Columbus – Junior
Another junior and another player with over 11 yards per carry, 1,800 yards and 20-plus touchdowns was Columbus’ Kaden Amigon Kaden Amigon 6'0" | 185 lbs | ATH Columbus | 2024 State IA . His stat line is a strong one: 158 carries for 1,872 yards with 26 touchdowns. That averages out to 11.8 yards per carry for one of the state’s finest.
Amigon also recorded 51 tackles on defense with a fumble recovery for a score, a kickoff return for a score and over 140 yards in returns.
Honorable Mention
Jackson DeWald was the other player to record over 1,800 yards, as the Westwood senior finished with 1,861 and 22 scores. Luke Sternberg Luke Sternberg 6'1" | 185 lbs | ATH AHSTW | 2025 State IA of AHSTW just missed that mark, finishing with 1,791 yards and 25 touchdowns, while several others hit 1,000 yards and had double-figure TD totals.
