I think these prospects will go to the next level, and do very great things. I also think that they should have probably received more offers. Let’s take a look at some of these guys.
Eric Thomas
Eric Thomas, Jr is a complete beast who has recorded 28 sacks in the last two seasons. He played on the highest level of football in Mississippi, and he was also a state champion this year. There were not many offensive lineman who had an answer for Thomas. He has nice size and will continue to grow. I felt like he was a guy that could have been recruited by some power five schools. I’m not an expert, but Thomas has some good things going for himself. He also is very violent with his hands. This kid has been training on his craft for a very long time. Thomas is going to do some great things at Alcorn State. They signed a stud yesterday.
Williams signed with Jackson State yesterday. Here is a guy that has put up over 2,000 yards receiving the last two seasons. There aren’t a lot of defensive backs or receivers that can stay in front of Mike. He has blazing speed with the ability to run decent routes. He isn’t the biggest prospect, but his speed should make up for that. Williams has the kind of speed that separates him from a lot of players on the field. He can bust a play open at any given time. He can take interceptions to the house whenever he gets ready. This guy here is a legit dude on the football field. You can mark my worlds on that.
Coleman signed with Louisiana-Lafayette yesterday. That was a very good pick-up for their team. Coleman will come to their campus to be a very hard worker. He has the size and skills to make it on any level. Coleman was a beast on the Picayune defense these last two years. He was very active in the trenches for their linebackers behind him. Coleman also has the skills to be a good edge rusher. He is guy that can do it all within his position. I think he could have easily been recruited by some power five schools. However, everybody must choose the best road for them. Coleman will make a grand opportunity from this moment.
Jakevion Butler
JJ Butler is a 6-foot-5, 190-pound stud that stood out all year. Him and his teammates became back to back champs after beating Charleston in the stats championship. He is a stud that could have made it anywhere on the college level. He is going to gain more weight while continuing to perfect his route running. You don’t find many guys with his size coming out of high school. He signed with Southern Mississippi yesterday, and they have locked down a very great prospect. I can see Butler coming into their system making a very early impact. He just needs to keep his head down and continue to work. It won’t be easy making that transition from 2A to the SBC. However, I feel he will handle that with much ease.
