Everybody can’t make the cut, but we made sure to touch in on some other players who balled out in 6A. There is a lot of good football in this class if. Let’s see what we came up with.
6A North
I don’t think there was a better player in the North than Jeremiah Harrell Jeremiah Harrell 6'2" | 180 lbs | QB Tupelo | 2024 State MS . What he did this year was absolutely amazing. He threw for over 2800 yards and almost 30 touchdowns. His completing percentage was close to 70 percent. He is the kind of player that lines up ready to play every game. He was a major reason that Tupelo had such a great season this year. He is just a junior that Tupelo expects to have back next season. His mechanics will only get better as he continues to grow as a player. He is an x factor on this team that has seen his stock rise a a lot.
6A South
Brayson Hubbard is a guy that was absolutely amazing all season. The things he did this year to help his team was phenomenal. He threw for over 2000 yards and rushed for over 1500 with 40 plus touchdowns. Those are the stats you don’t see often from a quarterback. He did all of that on a loaded offense. His team fell short of winning state, but he gave it his all the whole season. Alabama fans are very excited to have this young man on their campus next season. He is going to be a big time playmaker on their defense. Hubbard has the speed and will to be great on the defensive side of the ball. Glad we were able to catch him on offense this year.
Honorable Mentions
There are a lot of guys that stepped up this year. We won’t be able to name everybody, but there has been a few more guys that stood out this year. Jaylon York Jaylon York 6'0" | 175 lbs | ATH Starkville | 2023 State MS and Braylon Burnside Braylon Burnside 6'1" | 180 lbs | ATH Starkville | 2024 State MS from Starkville both had a 1000 yards receiving a piece. That isn’t an easy task to come by when you have the balanced offense that Starkville has. These guys stepped up to the plate all season and played ball.
Trey Petty Trey Petty 6'1" | 190 lbs | QB Starkville | 2024 State MS had a great season that ended with him being the MVP of the state championship game. Some would argue that is the best accomplishment all season. I can’t argue with that at all. Making it to the state title is the ultimate goal. Being considered the best player in that game puts the icing on the cake.
Nate Blount from Brandon had a very good year. The big boy had multiple games where he went over 200 yards. He kept the Bulldogs close in a lot of games. His size and speed helps him a lot. He is going to be back next year causing problems.
