It is finally here!! The communization of the entire high school football season is the state championships. In Texas, all of the state games are held in one place The AT&T Stadium in Dallas, TX. One of the best Stadiums in the country and there we get to witness the results of all these young men's hard work. The game I will be covering is the final game which was The Duncanville Panthers vs The North Shore Mustangs. These two have been consistently meeting at state for a couple of years now this could be a new-age rivalry, especially between Houston and Dallas. Duncanville is out for revenge from last year's state champion loss against defending state champions North Shore.

It was a back-and-forth game Duncanville scored the 1st two touchdowns then North Shore answered back by scoring three. By the end of the 1st half, Duncanville scored again tying the game at 21-21 by halftime. It was hard fought battle by both teams especially on the defensive side once Duncanville scored again North Shore couldn't get past Duncanville's defense. Therefore, the final score of the game was 28-21 making The Duncanville Panthers The 2022 6A Division I State Champions. Both teams fought extremely hard and in this article, I'll be breaking down The North Shore Mustangs' defensive standouts.

#5 [player_tooltip player_id='136182' first='Jacoby' last='Davis'] CB Sr 5'11 175 lbs

I can name several qualities [player_tooltip player_id='136182' first='Jacoby' last='Davis'] has, but one trait that standouts are that he is a phenomenal athlete. North Shore played man coverage the whole game and Jacoby was always on his man allowing no separation between them. Although, North Shore lost one of the main reasons why they were able to compete was because of Jacoby. Jacoby was able to prevent two touchdowns by deflecting passes and even caught an interception. I noticed Jacoby last year and he has only improved since then and has become one of the top DBS in Houston. I'm not the only one that noticed Jacoby's talent he has numerous college and university offers. Jacoby has college offers from; Auburn University, the University of Michigan, Mississippi State University, Baylor University, Ole Miss, Texas A&M, and the University of Houston to name a few of them.

#10 Jarvon Coles OLB, SS Jr 5'9 185 lbs

Jarvon Coles is a very technical yet aggressive linebacker. Jarvon was patiently biding his time to tell where the play was going and was able to deflect any passes that came his way. Jarvon was aggressive and physical tackling anyone that he had his sights on. Being an essential player on the best team in Texas demonstrates his fortitude and skillset. By the end of the season I gratuity Jarvon will be a top college prospect with tons of offers by his senior year.

#7 [player_tooltip player_id='258577' first='Jayven' last='Anderson'] DB Sr 6'1 205 lbs

[player_tooltip player_id='258577' first='Jayven' last='Anderson'] had an amazing game against Duncanville. Jayven shows everyone why is a 4-star athlete by providing great coverage the entire game but was also a great striker and tackler. On run plays, Jayven would come up and properly wrap up the running back and bring him down. This was all due to Jayven's quickness and speed. Jayven is a top college prospect having numerous college and university offers from; the University of Texas San Antonio, Purdue University, University of Houston, Ole Miss University, University of Colorado, and Grambling State University to name a few.

#99 [player_tooltip player_id='118834' first='Elijah' last='Fields'] DL Sr 6'1 265 lbs

[player_tooltip player_id='118834' first='Elijah' last='Fields'] is a gigantic standout on the North Shore defense. Elijah just started playing for North Shore this season transferring from Spring High School. Since his transfer, Elijah has been thriving at North Shore even winning Defensive player of the year. Elijah is explosive off the ball he wasn't easily blocked or contained once he got off a block he would attack the ball holder. Elijah's main quality is his power allowing him to be a devastating tackler. Elijah is a top college prospect having numerous offers from colleges and universities from; Texas A&M Kingsville, Stephen F. Austin University, University of Mary-Hardin Baylor, Houston Baptist University, and Angelo State University to name a few.
