John Peterson
John Peterson has been leading the state and rushing since at least week 5. He is a consistent running back who displays excellent balance and explosiveness. Peterson rushed for over 2,600 yards which is about 500 yards more than anyone in 5A and 400 more than anyone in the state. John averaged over 7 yards per carry, reached the endzone 34 times and led his team deep into the playoffs. John has great potential and would be an excellent addition to many competitive collegiate programs such as Tulane. Because of John’s top tier performance he is recognized as one of 5A’s Top 5 Running Backs.
Dante is an Oregon Ducks Commit who was absolutely incredible this season. Dowdell has received multiple accolades such as Prep Redzone Top 5 Athlete, 2021 Football player of the year and more. What is most impressive about Dante is that he consistently performs at a high level from year to year. This season Dante rushed for over 2,150 yards 31 Touchdowns and an average of 8.4 yards a carry. Dowdell will certainly be successful at Oregon. This 4 Star Recruit will certainly have a bright future ahead of him. One thing that is certain is that he is considered as one of 5A’s Top 5 Running Backs.

Mahki Gaddis
Mehki is a special athlete and his potential is showing early on in his career. As a sophomore Gaddis rushed for over 1,700 yards making him 3rd top rusher in 5A and one of the top rushers in his graduation class. He averages over 140 yards per game and proves that he can move the chains with the ball in his hands. This young stud has proven that he can be a top tier athlete and will seek to do so over the next two seasons. It would be beneficial to see just what Gaddis is capable of as he continues to progress as an athlete. Nevertheless Mehki is considered one of 5A’s Top 5 Running Backs
Jayden Reed
Jayden Reed
Jayden has had a pretty consistent and productive high school career. Ever since he was the main ball carrier for the Commodores he has rushed for over 1,400 yards. Reed averaged over 130 yards per game and over 5.5 yards per carry. This season Reed nearly reached the 1,600 yard mark and scored 27 times on the ground. His aggressive running style helped his team to a winning season and a spot in the playoffs. Jayden has proved that he can be an impactful player and tote the ball with confidence. For this reason Reed is selected as one of 5A’s top 5 Running Backs.
Grey Bradley
Grey Bradley
Grey Bradley is a great athlete who has done well this season. He rushed for over 1,100 yards with an average of 102 yards a game and 6.3 yards per carry. He has the ability to run north and south in between the tackles but also break it big in the open field. Bradley helped lead his team to an 8-3 season. If given the opportunity Grey could indeed be a great addition to many JUCO level programs. Because of his efforts this past season Grey is awarded with 5A top 5 Running Backs.
