Continue ReadingPrep Redzone’s Stock-Up Showcase is returning to Colorado this evening to allow current high school players an opportunity to put their talents on display to help build their reputations as college prospects.
The three-hour event will include measurables, combine testing, and individual position drills. There are more than 80 athletes who have signed up for the showcase, many of whom have already made headway in their recruiting journeys.
This article will take a brief look at one tight end and four linemen that will be in attendance who I was unable to watch live during the season.
Ben Early Ben Early 6'4" | 200 lbs | TE Banning Lewis Prep Academy | 2024 State CO | Banning Lewis Prep Academy | 2024 TE/OLB
Early is not a lineman but a tight end whose on-field talents look as imposing as his size. The 6-foot-4 player has the power to clear out defenders as an extra blocker and the skills to expose secondaries as a receiver. Early is a name that has been circled on my watchlist for some time, making him a player I plan to watch closely.
Colin Sturm Colin Sturm 6'3" | 255 lbs | OL Lutheran | 2024 State CO | Lutheran | 2024 OL/DL
Sturm attended the last Stock-Up Showcase before having an outstanding junior season that ended with his team finishing as the 3A state runner-up. Sturm’s improvement has been evident in his film, proving that his stock continues to rise.
Jalen Payne | Vista PEAK Prep | 2024 OL/DL
Payne is another player I saw at a camp last summer but could not see in live play this season. He is an interior lineman who can play on either side of the trenches. Payne’s effort and eagerness to learn made him stand out at previous camps, and tonight should be no different.
Blane Brakemeier Blane Brakemeier 6'3" | 255 lbs | OL Heritage | 2024 State CO | Heritage | 2024 OL
Brakemeier is a talented offensive lineman with a little buzz surrounding him as a potential college prospect. He moves his feet well on film and displays good power when engaging defenders. Brakemeier’s junior season ended with an appearance in the quarterfinals, adding to why he is a lineman to keep a close eye on tonight.
Austin Perun Austin Perun 6'4" | 300 lbs | OL Heritage | 2024 State CO | Heritage | 2024 OL
Perun is not a name that has popped up on the radar just yet, but the recent performance of Heritage’s offense automatically makes his name one to circle. Perun was a part of a playoff team that has the potential to reach the postseason next season, making him one to add to the watchlist.
