Zion Ashby
Zion Ashby was an absolutely electric athlete this season. He was a reliable and consistent target for his QB and made the most of every opportunity. This season Zion collected nearly 1,200 yards receiving over 13 games. Ashby has displayed the ability to be a shifty route runner with great hands, exceptional top speed and a first hand understanding of coverages. Ashby averages nearly 90 yards per game and has done so by being explosive with the ball in his hands. He has shown the ability to make defenders miss in space, make the contested catch and prove to be an elite athlete. Due to his explosiveness Ashby has reached the endzone 15 times. This is similar to the LA Ram’s Cooper Kupp who caught 16 TDs in the 2021 regular season. This athlete has great potential and would make a great addition to any collegiate program. For this reason Zion Ashby is awarded with being one of 4A’s top 3 Recievers.
BJ Johnson
BJ Johnson
BJ is a top tier athlete who applies himself to being exceptional in everything. Johonson is one of Green County’s top playmakers and a foundational cornerstone for the program. BJ has found success as a junior this year pulling in over 840 yards and 9 TDs. Although his team didn’t see a lot of success Johnson still continued to be at the top of his game. It will be interesting to see how he does this next season. Nevertheless BJ will be an offensive weapon for the Wildcats. He has shown that he can be a competitor and would make a great addition to any football program. JUCO may be a great opportunity for BJ to continue his football career as he continues to progress. Due to his performance this year BJ is considered to be one of 4A’s Top 3 Receivers
Amarion Brown Amarion Brown 6’0″ | 180 lbs | WR Yazoo City | 2025 State MS is a young stud with great talent and an incredibly high ceiling. As a sophomore Brown put up over 780 yards and 9 TDs. He had a limited sample size of 10 games however his performance thus far is only indicative of what he can do given a full season. Brown has shown that he can dice up defenders with his speed, releases and catch radius. This young man is a promising recruiter with great upside. His team did not see much success either however he continued to give 100% despite the 0-10 record. Brown is certainly a bright spot for his team, one of the main playmakers and an individual with great potential. If he continues on this projection he will certainly be a great prospect in the upcoming years. Because of what he did as a Sophomore, Brown is considered to be one of 4A’s top 3 Receivers.
Layth Holiday
Layth Holiday
Layth is an exceptional plug and play athlete with great versatility and great upside. This season Layth was the complimentary passing threat to Zion but still demanded a great amount of defensive attention. Holiday possess the speed and skill to be a top tier route runner. This season Holiday hauled in over 800 yards and 8 TDs. Layth Holiday can be a great addition to any local JUCO’s receiving corps as he has great yards after the catch ability and a tendency for making big plays. For this reason Layth is considered to be one of 4A’s Top 5 Wide Receivers.
Chasden Collins
Chasden Collins
Collins is an underrated playmaker who can do incredible things with the ball in his hands. Chasden is only 5-5 but he is a true competitor and an athlete who has been exceptionally consistent throughout his career. This season Chasden had over 1,000 all-purpose yards and 13 TD’s. His speed and toughness would make him an excellent slot receiver or wingback. Nevertheless Chasden is an great athlete and a good prospect. Because of his feats this season Chasden is considered to be one of 4A’s top 5 Receivers.
