Rashayd McGruder Rashayd McGruder 6'0" | 175 lbs | DB Laurel | 2024 State MS , Laurel
McGruder is a very talented DB. He has a good way of using his natural talents. He is a guy that has long arms, and knows how to move around his opponents. McGruder is one of the best DBs in this classification for Mississippi. He is going to see his stock rise a lot this off-season. He had four interceptions this past season. McGruder also added fifty two tackles. This kid is going to be special. He just needs to continue to hit the camp circuit.
Anthony Rogers, Laurel
Shownuff is what they call this young man. The reason why is cause he is sure enough to make a play every game. That’s what he does. This kid lives to make big plays. He also knows how to come up to make big hits. Shownuff is a guy that fans like to come see. He makes a very good impression on me all season. He is a stud at his position. A 4.5 guy that will see his stock rise this off-season.
Semaj Knowles, Louisville
Knowles is a guy that I have been intrigued with all season. He has a lot of things that he does well. He also has the good size that DBs need. I just think that sometimes he can be more aggressive when the ball is thrown. I think that is one of the things he should work on this offseason. To me that is his only flaw. Knowles is always in the right position. He also truly knows how to play his position. If he can use this summer to be a better playmaker on the ball he will see his stock rise a lot. This kid has it.
Donovan Coleman, Clinton
Coleman is a guy that I like a lot. He is a bigger DB that plays with a aggression. He loves coming up to make big hits. That may sound repetitive when I discuss DBs, but those are characteristics I like to see. You want to see good DBs who aren’t afraid to tackle. That’s the player that Coleman is. He also knows the way to blanket a receiver. Coleman is going to be a guy that consistently gets beat in coverage. He likes to be a tough competitor when he is on the field.
Patrick Broomfield, Clarksdale
Broomfield is a guy a lot of college coaches are familiar with. I think we will see him pick up a few offers this off-season. He is very long, and knows how to attack the football when it is in the air. He has the skill that defensive backs need to handle their position. Broomfield is also known to come up, and make big hits. He is a stud for his team.
