In this piece, we will preview top recruit performances seen during this championship weekend. Big games come with pressure to be the best. Many athletes leave it all on the field during championships games, and this weekend the recruits below did just that. This is part 3 of a three-part series.
Javin Willis Javin Willis QB Wakefield | 2023 New E was a difference maker in this battle as the senior quarterback went 8-for-12 passing for 186 yards. He also had 11 carries for 72 yards and 2 TDs. He started to open things up in the 2nd half with his arm, and his legs, breaking off a 9-yard touchdown run and a 22-yard run that set up a touchdown finish run by his teammate. His performance helped lead his team to victory and clinch the MIAA Div 3 Championship. Willis has very good athleticism and defined as a athlete behind center. At 5’8″ he doesn’t have the prototypical QB frame but his mechanics and composure from the pocket is special. He has a smooth release in his throws with accuracy. He can escape the pocket when needed. Keeps his eyes down field when play appears to break down.

On Saturday, freshman quarterback Peter Burque began the game as the backup Qb to a senior starter on his team. He stepped up after the senior QB ahead of him sustained an ankle injury to help lead his team to victory and another MIAA Div 2 Championship. On the day “Bourque” went 4 of 7 passes for 76 yards, and 2 TDs). He handled the moment by and tossing a 22-yard touchdown and a 31-yard TD strike. His composure stood out while doing so. He was definitely confident in his abilities while showing good success ahead for his future team. He has good pocket awareness and his throwing mechanics are sound. He works hard in the off -season with private Qb training and will be a name to keep on the radar as his recruitment will likely begin rather sooner than later.

Carson Harwood Carson Harwood 6’1″ | 220 lbs | RB Catholic Memorial | 2023 State New E is 6’1″ 225lbs positioned at running back for his team. His last performance in 2022 was impressive. The Senior tailback had 20 carries for 89 yards and put the finishing touches on his high school career with a 5-yard rushing score and a 22-yard touchdown pass with 1:22 to go in the third quarter to help lead his team to victory and a MIAA Div 3 Championship title. Carson is an impressive and durable running back that has a very good size frame. He runs with confidence seen in his skill set and he finishes runs with aggression. He has committed to Univ of Rhode Island. HUDL PROFILE
Carl Monks Carl Monks 6’1″ | 185 lbs | QB St John’s Prep Danvers, Ma. | 2025 New E is a class of 2025 QB who wasn’t marked for any action at QB for the day. As a result of injuries to the 1st and 2nd level qb’s ahead of him during first half of game, he relieved the #2 QB backup to start the second half. He then controlled a few outstanding drives during the game. On one specific drive, he shared the ball with two different teammates as part of a 12-play drive that covered 46 yards in just under six minutes. Monks also engineered an eight-minute drive that didn’t result in points but effectively sealed the improbable title for his team during play in the 4th quarter. His performance help lead his team to victory and clinch a MIAA Div 1 Championship title. He showed he has confidence in his skill set. He looked like he belonged under center and his production confirmed the future bright for his future team. HUDL PROFILE
Jack Finnegan Jack Finnegan 5’9″ | 175 lbs | ATH Milton H.S. Ma. | 2023 New E is a 5’9″ athlete positioned at RB for his team. He had been the go to guy during the entire season. On the day “Finnegan” had 24 carries for 131 yards and 3 TDs while pulling in 3 receptions for 34 yards to help lead his team to victory and clinch the MIAA Div 3 Championship. It was also known “Finnegan” was battling through injury during this performance. He has very good vision and can be a nightmare in the return game. He can easily react to open running lanes by jump cutting on the dime and excelling with a burst. He is versatile with ability to play the slot. He shows both mental and physical toughness in his skill set. HUDL PROFILE
