Nevertheless, we still wanted to take some time to recognize the high level of success the top rushing leaders in the state have had to this point of the season, as this in itself is very impressive. Below, take some time to review the rushing totals, averages, and TD’s in which some of these players have been able to achieve in just 9-10 games. We doubt that you won’t be impressed.
Mason Avery- West Lincoln
Avery, who has continued to dominate his competition on this list, has had a high level of success this season, which includes a total of 2,367 rushing yards in the regular season. This has come with an average of around 236 yards a game, and 9.6 yards per carry on 245 rushing attempts. This regular season, he ran for a long of 78 yards, and also saw himself record 34 total TD’s for his team. Because of this, it should come as no shocker that he was able to help his team to an 8-2 record. As the playoffs commence, expect for Avery to continue to prove his worth, and the value that he brings to his team as a RB.

Compared to most players on this list, Perris has seen the end zone a large amount of times this year. So far, he has scored 32 TD’s, and has done so while racking up 2,115 yards in just a 10 game span. This has resulted in an average of 211 rushing yards a game, and 10 rushing yards an attempt. To add to this, he has not recorded any fumbles this year, proving how smoothe, and efficient of an operator he truly is. As the playoffs begin, look for him to have his fair share of success for his team.
Keyshawn Breedlove- Central Davidson
Thanks to Breedlove, and the successful running game of Central Davidson, his team has currently racked up an 8-2 record this season. This is largely due to his 1,991 yards on the ground, and average of 199 yards a game. On 148 carries this season, Breedlove has averaged around 13.45 yards a carry, and has rushed for a long of 82 yards on one play. If this is not impressive, the fact that he has scored 28 times when toting the rock definitely is. Expect him to continue to strive for greater, and to put his team in a position to succeed down the stretch.

Baines, who has been instrumental in Jack Britt’s 7-3 record, and 6-1 overall record in their region, has carried the team on his back this season. After 10 games, he has rushed for 1,972 yards, and has averaged around 197 yards a game. This comes with around 8.6 yards a carry, on a total of 228 rushing attempts this year. With this, Baines has also rushed for a long of 84 yards, and 23 TD’s. As the postseason begins soon, we firmly believe he will continue to add to this total, and climb up this list effortlessly.

Bailey, who has started to separate himself from the competition beneath him on this list, has rushed for 1,866 yards after 10 games this season. In this span, he has averaged around 186 yards a game, and has been highly efficient with the ball in his hands. Currently, he averages around 8.4 yards a carry and has done so on 221 carries this year. He has rushed for a long of 49 yards, and has scored 23 TD’s as well. As he has continued to solidify himself as a reliable piece of his team, we are only left to wonder how this will help his 5-5 team in the first round of the playoffs this week. Only time will tell.
