is a 6’1, 185 pound Senior Wide Receiver from Van Buren and is not one to back down from a challenge. Just recently being offered a Preferred Walkon Scholarship to the University Of Arkansas and Wide Receiver Coach Kenny Guiton. Malachi says being offered the walkon scholarship made him feel really good with all of the hard work giving him a great opportunity.
Other colleges that he has received interest from include Memphis, Murray State, the University Of Central Arkansas, all of the Ivy League schools and all of the Military Academys. Malachi attended camps this past summer at the University Of Arkansas, the University Of Central Arkansas and Texas Tech University. He has 4.5 speed in the 40 yard dash. He bench presses 250 pounds and squats 395 pounds.
Malachi also has a 32 inch vertical jump. His academics are strong with a 3.95 GPA and an ACT score of 27. His dad head coach of Van Buren Moe Henry has been his most influential person in his life having been coached by him in football from the beginning. Malachi’s leadership shows up on the field by helping his teammates in certain situations that they need help with and picking them up when feeling down.
His size and speed are what makes him the player that he is. Malachi’s strengths are his route running and catching the ball. He loves to battle for the ball everytime. What separates him from other players is his Football IQ and his knack of finding the end zone. Through 8 games this season Malachi has caught 53 passes for 821 yards and 12 touchdowns plus one touchdown on a kickoff return.
I feel like Malachi is waiting for his time to shine at the next level with his talent and being undeniable to succeed wherever he decides to go to college. He has set a timetable for deciding towards the end of December and signing in February.
