King and Muskegon have both had their fair share of rings, and there are multiple seniors on both sides that don’t want to go out with a loss. This is a crucial game for any casual fan, but this is also a crucial game when it comes to prospect exposure. The fact of the matter is that Detroit area teams get much more exposure than Grand Rapids / Muskegon area teams, and this is a amazing opportunity for the Big Reds.
QB | Dante Moore Dante Moore 6'2" | 210 lbs | QB Detroit King | 2023 State MI | Detroit MLK
On a team full of truly incredible seniors, Dante Moore Dante Moore 6'2" | 210 lbs | QB Detroit King | 2023 State MI stands worlds above the rest. A humble, elite prospect, Moore has nothing left to prove except that he’s deserving of another ring. All eyes will always be on Dante.
QB | M’khi Guy M’khi Guy 5'7" | 165 lbs | ATH Muskegon | 2024 State MI | Muskegon
On the flip side, not many outside of West Michigan know who M’khi Guy M’khi Guy 5'7" | 165 lbs | ATH Muskegon | 2024 State MI is. He’s a shifty dual-threat QB that rushed for 341 yards, 6 touchdowns and 1 TD pass in a snowstorm against DeWitt. Now, he’s an athlete and not a prototypical QB at 5’9 155, so it’s going to be interesting to see what the buzz is in the press box when it comes to guy. All in all, Guy will be the obvious #1 guy to watch for the Big Reds.
RB | Sterling Anderson Jr. | Detroit MLK
Anderson was everywhere for King this past weekend, totaling 3 rushing TDs, 2 receiving TDs, and 1 kick return for a TD. In a massive senior class for King, Anderson is one prospect that doesn’t have many offers, but he’s been absolutely dominant. It will be interesting to see if a big postseason bolsters his recruiting.
IOL | Miguel Botello Miguel Botello 6'4" | 300 lbs | OL Muskegon | 2024 State MI | Muskegon
Muskegon has a towering O line full of potential, and this is a big opportunity for that whole unit to have many eyes on them. No prospect has great potential and is as decorated as Miguel Botello Miguel Botello 6'4" | 300 lbs | OL Muskegon | 2024 State MI , a 6’4″ 300lb interior offensive line prospect. He’s a natural bruiser who’s able to seamlessly block some of the best linemen in the state. He’s more than proved himself, as I have Miguel as the best offensive lineman in the OK Conference, but the more mainstream Detroit media has yet to see Miguel.
T | D’Andre Hudgins | Muskegon
Another Muskegon O lineman who has much to prove in a grand stage. The potential is surely there, as he’s a experienced 6’3″ 280lb monster. Now, both Muskegon tackles got exposed against De La Salle earlier in the season (their biggest stage yet), but since that game, they have rebounded and played amazing. Their playoff game against Zeeland West was a masterclass in blocking, and the senior will want to perform well to get some buzz around his name.
DB | Kingston Blackmon Kingston Blackmon 5'6" | 160 lbs | DB Muskegon | 2023 MI | Muskegon
The Muskegon DBs will be on high alert as they face the best QB in the state. Blackmon is a hard-hitter who is as athletic as they come, but I honestly haven’t seen much of his tape. Regardless, I know he’s a very important piece for this team. I will have my eye on Blackmon.
