Villa spent most of the season splitting reps at quarterback but now has transitioned into a swiss army knife for the Thunderbirds. He returns kicks, catches passes, and still takes a few snaps at quarterback. Few can catch the speedy athlete in the open field as he displayed on his 92-yard kickoff return touchdown. Villa did a great job following his blockers and let his wheels do the rest. In addition, he took a screen to the house, where he outran the Orem defenders. Villa ended any chance of a Tiger comeback with a 41-yard rushing score where he flew down the sideline for six. Villa has embraced his new role with the Thunderbirds, making them even more dangerous.

With 3:28 to go in the third quarter, the Chargers fell behind 28-24, but the Phoenix only held the lead for a play before Brady made the play of the game. The Sophomore caught the ensuing kickoff at the 13, made a great cut off a Charger block, found the crease, and took off. He was nearly brought down but high-stepped out of the tackle. All that stood between him and the endzone was the kicker, and he outran him. Brady has blazing speed and used it to help the Chargers retake the lead right after they lost it. The class of 2025 athlete will no doubt be a huge part of the Chargers games for years to come.
Pokai Haunga || ATH || 5’11 || 195 || Timpview High School || 2023
Haunga seems to be everywhere at once on the field. The electric athlete chases down ball carries and pass catchers all over the field. He made his presence felt against the Orem tigers with 11 tackles and half a sack. Haunga is an excellent blitzer, but he’s too quick for offensive linemen to slow him down. He easily keeps track of speedy receivers and has good ball skills in coverage. In addition, Haunga has the speed to make chase-down tackles from behind. The Thunderbirds are loaded with talent, but it’s impossible to forget about Haunga with how many plays he makes throughout a game.
Carson Sudbury || ATH || 5’10 || 175 || Bingham High School || 2024
Sudbury did it all in Bingham’s semifinal game against Skyridge. He completed a pass, ran for 30 yards, and most impressively hauled in eight receptions for 136 yards and two touchdowns. Sudbury is a dynamic playmaker who’s hard to stop whenever he gets the ball in his hand. He’s tough to bring down and even more challenging to cover in space. Sudbury explodes off his plant foot to create separation and consistently racks up yards after the catch. He often slips past defenders and has one of the week’s top plays when he spun out of a tackle for an end-of-half touchdown. Sudbury will be back in 2024, and defenders everywhere will dread seeing him back with Bingham.
