Throughout America’s Heartland, we have seen exciting and noteworthy 2022 regular season games, performances, and performers week to week and although it went by way too fast, playoffs and their win-or-go-home repercussions bring a whole new level of intensity to the table for programs and individuals all across the gridiron. The yards get tougher on the ground with each carry, the windows shrink smaller for QBs, the tackles more pressure-filled in the open field, and the wins exponentially more hard-fought. This is when the true ballers and clutch performers reveal themselves, and lucky for you PrepRedzone has identified 25 top individual efforts from Midwest preps in last weekend’s action. With eight of the finest state’s in the Flyover States represented, you’ll be sure to find stat lines that knock your socks off, and whether you’re a fan of offense or defense we have it all for you here below. Congrats to the selections!
1) Bobby Trujillo Bobby Trujillo 6'2" | 210 lbs | LB Emporia | 2023 State KS (Emporia, KS) 2023. LB/RB. – Helped outlast Highland Park in a crazy upset of the 3rd seed by the 14th in a 84-64 shootout. Finished with 28 carries for 301 yards and 9 TDs plus 12 tackles and a sack defensively.
2) Dalton Whitworth Dalton Whitworth 5'11" | 170 lbs | QB Rock Creek | 2023 State KS (Rock Creek, KS) 2023. QB. – Check out this monster stat line: 41-50 for 550 yards and 7 TDs in a victory over Clearwater.
3) Briggs Bartosh Briggs Bartosh 5'11" | 185 lbs | RB Park Hill South | 2023 State MO (Park Hill South, MO) 2023. ATH. 5’11, 185 lbs. – Had a massive, record-breaking performance last weekend against Staley as he totaled 387 all-purpose yards and 6 TDs (school record), five of which came through the air (also a school record). In all, Bartosh was 11-18 for 253 yards and 5 TDs plus 81 rushing yards and a TD and a 53-yard kickoff return as the cherry on top! PHS won by six!
4) Jovan Clark Jovan Clark 6'0" | 200 lbs | ATH Morgan Park | 2025 State IL (Morgan Park, IL) 2025. ATH. – The P5 recruit had a massive defensive performance in a tough playoff win to defending champs Fenwick High School and tallied 20 tackles, 2 sacks, a forced fumble, and an interception!
5) Koi Perich Koi Perich 6'2" | 200 lbs | ATH Esko | 2024 State MN (Esko, MN) 2024. ATH. – The do-it-all junior racked up a productive night in a win against Two Harbors and finished with 6 touches for 206 yards and 3 TDs plus five tackles and two interceptions on defense.
6) Andre Crews Andre Crews 5'9" | 175 lbs | ATH Simeon | 2023 State IL Jr. (Simeon, IL) 2023. ATH. – In a Week 10, round 1 playoff win the prolific senior rushed 14 times for 306 yards and 4 TDs as Simeon overtook Oak Forest.
7) Logan Lesch (Sandusky Perkins, OH) 2024. QB. – Went off for a personal stat line of 13-14 for 355 yards and 3 TDs, all in the first half, in a win against River Valley.
8) Tre Richardson Tre Richardson 5'10" | 165 lbs | ATH Highland Park | 2023 State KS (Highland Park, KS) 2023. RB. – The long-time scoring machine came out on the losing side of a crazy game in Kansas but finished with 440 all-purpose yards and 6 TDs in the finale.
9) Mark Harris Mark Harris 6'1" | 180 lbs | QB Maur Hill Prep | 2023 State KS (Maur Hill Mound Academy, KS) 2023. QB. 6’1, 185 lbs. – In MHMA’s Week 8 matchup with Horton the senior gunslinger broke his school record for single-game passing yards with 418 and also threw for 4 TDs. Added 92 rushing yards and another TD for good measure.
10) Will Nuss (Johnston, IA) 2025. QB. – Huge win for starting sophomore gunslinger as Nuss threw at a 52% completion percentage for 272 yards and 5 TDs as Johnston took down Iowa City High 38-31.
11) Alessio Milivojevic Alessio Milivojevic 6'1" | 205 lbs | QB St. Francis | 2024 State IL (St. Francis, IL) 2024. QB. 6’2, 205 lbs. – Posted a crazy stat line of 8-10 passing for 272 yards and 6 TDs in only a half of play as St. Francis beat up on Marengo High School.
12) Brad Vierneisel Brad Vierneisel WR Mt. Prospect | 2023 IL (Prospect, IL) 2023. QB. 6′, 180 lbs. – In a Round 1 playoff thumping of Reavis the senior was 8-9 through the air for 167 passing yards and 5 TDs!
13) Abu Sama Abu Sama 5'11" | 180 lbs | RB Southeast Polk | 2023 State IA (Southeast Polk, IA) 2023. RB. – Helped whoop Ames High School and finished with 7 carries for 135 yards and 2 TDs for an eye-popping 19.3 YPC average.
14) Caden Casimino (Crystal Lake South, IL) 2024. QB. – Despite the thrilling 63-55 loss to Prairie Ridge, CLS gunslinger Casimino was 20-28 for 334 passing yards and 3 TDs plus 49 rushing yards and 2 more TDs for a lot of points scored to finish his junior season.
15) Grant Parker Gibson (Rockwood Summit, MO) 2024. QB. 6’3, 210 lbs. – In the Week 10, Round 1 victory over Pacific High School the junior threw for 218 yards and 6 TDs in only two quarters of play!
16) BJ Wuest (Danville Community, IN) 2023. WR. 6’2, 180 lbs. – In a Round 2 matchup with Western Boone the senior totaled 6 catches for 150 receiving yards and two TDs plus a 2pt conversion and five rushing yards. Added 8 tackles defensively as well!
17) Daimont Mucker (Valley Center, KS) 2024. RB. 5’10, 185 lbs. – Rushed for 288 yards and 4 TDs against Maize South!
18) William Phillips (Cedar Rapids-Prairie, IA) 2024. QB. – The 6’4, 160 lber. helped beat Linn-Mar by completing 8 passes on 14 attempts for 181 yards and 4 TDs in the win.
19) Bo Bokman Bo Bokman 5'7" | 175 lbs | ATH Lakeville South | 2025 State MN (Bethlehem Academy, MN) 2025. ATH. – Big night on both sides of the ball for the sophomore as finished with 11 carries for 80 yards and 2 TDs, a catch for 25 yards, 11 tackles, a sack, 3.5 TFLs, and an interception he returned for a TD as BA beat Rushford-Peterson.
20) Titan Osburn (Washburn Rural, KS) 2024. WR. 6’3, 170 lbs.- Against Dodge City, the junior recorded 3 catches for 117 yards and 3 TDs for a Randy Moss-esque stat line.
21) Ben Kueter Ben Kueter 6'3" | 220 lbs | LB Iowa City High | 2023 State IA (Iowa City High, IA) 2023. LB/RB. – In a tight loss, the Iowa Hawkeye commit recorded 95 rushing yards and 3 TDs plus 9 tackles, 2 TFLs, and a FF. What a way to go out for the senior.
22) Dennis Crawford (Belleville, MI) 2023. WR/DB. – Against Woodhaven High School the senior playmaker recorded two touchdowns and two interceptions to help secure the win for Belleville.
23) Joshua Wence (Sullivan, IN) RB/LB. 2023. – In Sullivan’s Week 11 Section Semifinal the senior left it all out on the field and totaled 18 tackles as well as 3 carries for 49 yards and a touchdown. Sullivan beat Cascade 30-14.
24) Kyle Gettemy Kyle Gettemy 6'2" | 195 lbs | LB Yorkville | 2023 State IL (Yorkville, IL) 2023. LB. – The senior helped Yorkville beat Libertyville 33-8 and finished with 10 tackles, 2 TFLs, a punt block, a PBU, and half a sack for a solid defensive effort.
25) Lance Coon Lance Coon 5'9" | 190 lbs | RB Humboldt | 2024 State IA (Humboldt, IA) 2024. 5’9, 180 lbs. – In a 39-0 Round 1 victory over Hampton the junior rushed 18 times for 166 yards and 3 TDs.
