During round 1 of the playoffs on Thursday, November 10th I went to The Shadow Creek Sharks vs The Brazoswood Pirates game. I was excited to see Shadow Creek play because they’re one of the best teams in Houston and Brazoswood was a competent team I thought it would be a good game. However, Shadow Creek just could not be stopped on either offense or defense. Brazoswood was outmatched and only scored one touchdown compared to Shadow Creek’s 11 touchdowns. The final score of the game was 77-7 with Shadow Creek moving on to round 2. Shadow Creek had a lot of standouts on offense.
#2 Caleb Washington WR SR 6’0 180 lbs
Caleb Washington is an extremely fast wide receiver. Shadow Creek is a run-heavy offense which led to a low amount of passes and Caleb only caught one pass. However, that one pass that Caleb caught led to a 97-yard touchdown. Brazoswood’s defense couldn’t stop anyone on Shadow Creek’s offense, but once Caleb ran with the ball no one could touch him, and had an easy stroll to the end zone.
#1 Jacorey Watson Jacorey Watson 5'10" | 170 lbs | WR Shadow Creek | 2025 State TX QB, WR So 5’10 175 lbs
Jacorey Watson Jacorey Watson 5'10" | 170 lbs | WR Shadow Creek | 2025 State TX mainly lined up as a wide receiver but got a couple of chances to throw the ball as a quarterback. Jacorey as a wide receiver was incredibly quick beating out the defender in front of him to catch passes and the two passes he caught they were both resulted in touchdowns. When Jacorey was a quarterback he had a phenomenal arm being able to throw short to mid-long passes with great accuracy. For being only a sophomore and leaving this much of an impact Jacorey will be a top-ranked player by next season. Jacorey is a top college prospect being recruited by numerous colleges and universities from; the University of Houston, University of Michigan, University of Texas, Ole Miss University, and Sam Houston State University to name a few. Jacorey’s stats as a quarterback was 3/4 completions for 40 passing yards and threw one touchdown pass and as wide receiver 2 receptions for 40 yards and 2 reception touchdowns.
#5 Tylik Burton RB, WR Jr 5’6 160 lbs
Tylik Burton is an incredibly skilled running back with quickness and speed. Tylik feet just don’t stop moving whenever he got caught by his ankles he was easily able to break out of it. Tylik despite his size is strong enough to break through full-on tackles and then ran for a 70-yard touchdown but got called back for holding. Tylik’s stats were 5 carries with 110 rushing yards and one touchdown.
#22 Jacob Washington RB Sr 6’0
Jacob Washington was another standout running back on Shadow Creek’s roster. Jacob was turning up at the beginning of the game using his quickness and great footwork to his advantage Jacob was unstoppable. I was impressed watching Jacob being such a tall and fast running back it was tough for him not to stand out. Jacob’s stats were 7 carries with 75 rushing yards and two touchdowns.
