These teams met earlier in the season, and St. Francis came out with the 42-35 victory. Needless to say, we can expect another high-scoring affair come Saturday. For now, here are some prospects to watch in the D7 final!
LB/RB | Devian Franklin | Lumen Christi
#2 FLIES all over the field, game in and game out. This is a 3-year 2-way starter with absolutely no fear. This guy is fast, strong, can beat blocks, double-teams, you name it. This is a D7 freak that I am extremely excited to watch this weekend, especially against another big team.
QB/DB/KR | Wyatt Nausadis | St. Francis
Wyatt is an extremely imposing force in all three phases of the game. Standing at 6’4 190, he’s a nicely built athlete that runs hard, covers well, and is absolutely relentless. The theme of most small-town teams is grit, and he embodies it. Nausadis is a college prospect in basketball and a really fun player to watch in D7 football. He’s a player I’ve been wanting to watch all season, and I am excited to finally get the chance to watch him go to work!
RB | Derrick Walker | Lumen Christi
Walker is the main tailback for Lumen Christi, and he’s a prototypical speed back. His 5’10 175lb frame is ideal, and he’s a speedster who can make guys miss. In typical D7 fashion, he’s not afraid of contact, either. Let’s see what he can do against one of the biggest and best defenses in the state!
OL/DL | Ryan Henning-Neumann | St. Francis
In short, this is a physical, strong two-way lineman for St. Francis. He isn’t the most fundamentally sound athlete, but he knows how to use his size, he knows how to hit, and he plays fearless. Against a physical Lumen Christi, linemen like Henning-Neumann are going to be crucial for team success.
