Michael Fileppo
Sound tackler who sees it and hits it. There isn’t too much flash to Michael Fileppo’s game, none needed when you’re a head-hunting MLB that pursues the football at a high level. His quickness to the ball carrier is awesome to see on tape, he closes the gap in a flash, if you’re within five yards and Fileppo guesses right, you’re hitting the turf. An effective and timely blitzer yet stands out on first downs and run-heavy situations. Fileppo can be trusted to win one-on-one battles even amongst some of the elite backs PA has to offer. Can’t speak enough about the spark he provides the defense to. High motor, loud and pumped. I’ve witnessed his charisma myself. An under-rated prospect who doesn’t have any offers to my knowledge.
Ian Amegatcher
Ian Amegatcher
Primary outside lane corner, stands at 5’11, 170, fitting the mold for your prototypical DB. Some safety reps on tape but wins and wins often at corner. Ian Amegatcher is a senior DB that is often overlooked, especially by many outside of the Central Dauphin area. I think of Terrence and Vincent Jackson, or even Jared Porter Jared Porter 5’9″ | 170 lbs | ATH Central Dauphin East | 2025 State PA before I think of anyone else. Ian Amegatcher is another name to know out of this program. First thing that sticks out about the senior corner is his assertiveness in run-support. This kid is chiseled out and can shed and attack downhill. He’s a big-hitting tone-setting DB that is going to have his future DB coaches lit on the sidelines. Pass coverage skills show he handles inside-breaking routes well. Based on his film, he can keep up with speed down the sideline. I’m not sure if there are enough pass coverage reps and PBUs to solidly say he’s a college corner, but a move to safety could benefit his stock. His ability to play the run might be best suited from a safety spot. Nonetheless, I’m just learning about this young man. Like his skillset.
Brendan McCullough
Brendan McCullough
Carnegie Melon and Grove City are in on Brendan McCullough. What a fun senior tape to watch. McCullough does it all for Peters Township. Whether that be at wide receiver, where he can legitimately align anywhere and provide offense, or at outside lane corner, where he can shut down his matchup with his athleticism. First thing that stood out to me when turning on the McCullough tape was his ability to run. This is real speed, there’s no question as to why PT has him play corner and not safety, that’s because this kid has awesome straight-line speed. His tape flexes three separate interceptions, all of which have him running full speed while tracking the football and coming away with what would be a tough catch for most DBs. Combine this kid’s ball skills and speed, you’ve got a legit playmaker who can score from anywhere on offense. He can torch the secondary deep, he can make kids miss in the screen game. This kid is special and will end up being a steal if he plays at the D3 level early on in his career. Excited to rank him.
Rakeem Refile
Rakeem Refile
Not sure if many coaches are in the know of Rakeem Refile, a 6’4, 300-pound defensive lineman in the trenches for Roman Catholic. Refile is a Texas kid who has been tearing up the A&B gaps, The stud names around him might shine in the spotlight, yet some of that shine needs to be shed on Refile, who is often splitting double teams or even eating up triple teams to allow his partners to work. This young man isn’t just a clog in the hole, he’s got some finesse and wiggle to his game to allow for some penetration into the backfield. I wouldn’t have guessed this kid weighs 295, more like 265 the way he moves laterally in the interior. Awesome lower body strength makes Refile a tough kid to move in general, if he gets hand position on a guard or center, said offensive linemen better get ready for a ride. I’m not sure who is courting this kid, but he could end up a late steal for a local program. His GPA is high as well.
Adonia Quartey
Adonia Quartey
Love the role played by senior Adonia Quartey out of Stroudsburg HS. Quartey primarily plays the slot corner alignment with his eyes in the backfield pre-snap. Post-snap, the coaching staff allows Quartey to play with instincts, flashing his ability to intercept balls and or close in on passing lanes to his matchup. Ball skills and hand-eye coordination is where Quartey wins. Active hands that are well-placed can only be described as annoying. That’s a great trait to label any DB in the country. Quartey makes nothing easy so long as he’s in phase. I can’t find much about his recruitment on Twitter, yet he self-lists at 6’0, 170 pounds. I will note, Ball Skills doesn’t always mean the ability to catch the ball, Quartey could easily have 5-7+ interceptions based on his tape alone. He doesn’t, however, yet he makes up for it in PBUs. Quartey provides some Safety reps as well if the defense doesn’t call for a nickel corner.
Leon Matthews
Leon Matthews
Here’s a 6’3, lean pass rusher who can create pressure with his hand on or off the dirt. An opportunist who makes the most of each rep, who also adversely and inadvertently creates turnovers through his rushes to the ball carrier. Matthews has rushed throws that have led to interceptions, he’s forced strip sacks as well. Matthews is incredibly raw from a pure football perspective, especially when projecting his pass-rushing skills to the next level. He’s got a ways to go, yet you can’t deny his size, production, and skillset around off the edge. Matthews wins with speed and motor. If football is in his future, he might need to be open to any and all positions to truly open up his value to a collegiate program, that being OLB, ILB, TE, and WR. There’s something to unlock here.
