|| QB || 5’10 || 180 || Skyridge High School || 2023
Hillstead only attempted 18 passes, but he completed 12 of them and still threw for 210 yards and two touchdowns as he gashed the Miner’s defense. Since returning from injury, he’s made the Falcon’s offense nearly unstoppable. It felt like they were barely on the field against Bingham, and that’s because Hillstead had them moving the ball quickly and for big gains. Few signal callers can match his accuracy outside the numbers in the state. When plays break down, there’s not a better scrambler than Hillstead, and defenses are terrified to let him leave the pocket. He does a great job distributing the ball and giving his playmakers chances in space.
Jackson Brosseau || QB || 6’5 || 215 || Lehi High School || 2023
Brosseau blasted the Stallion’s defense for 226 yards and four touchdowns. The Stansbury secondary has shut down some of the highest-scoring offenses in the state, but in one of his best performances of the season, the Pioneers quarterback led his team to an impressive semifinal win. Brousseau is exceptionally accurate from every level of the field and has the arm strength to stretch a defense. He easily navigates the pocket and reads defenses like a children’s book. Brousseau does a great job going through his progressions and almost never locks in on one read.

The Corner Canyon defense is one of the state’s best but for most of last Friday’s game Wight was able to move the ball against them. The junior quarterback throws a tight spiral, and his ball placement is elite. Wight does a great job giving his receivers chances to make plays downfield and trusts them to come down with 50/50 balls. The Phoenix fell behind 14-0, but Wight never blinked and led his team on a comeback that allowed them to take a 28-14 lead in the middle of the third quarter. The Chargers would go on to win the game, but Wight’s performance, in which he launched three touchdown passes and threw for 272 yards, won’t soon be forgotten.
Lance Reynolds || QB || 6’2 || 185 || Orem High School || 2024
Reynolds and the Tigers came up short of upsetting Timpview, but that does not diminish what he did in the game. The 6’2 signal caller threw for 237 yards, three touchdowns, and completed over 75% of his passes in the last game of his Junior season. Reynolds is accurate on the move and can buy time for his receivers to get open. He’s comfortable operating off-script when plays break down and can scramble. He’s an elite athlete who can also pick apart a defense from the pocket. Reynolds is as tough as any quarterback to bring down in space and is a great leader who will have a chance to make more big plays for the Tigers next year.
