Proceeds from the game go to benefit the Metro School located in downtown Charlotte, which educates children with a myriad of disability conditions.
Let’s take a look at this year’s quarterbacks:
Sean Boyle Sean Boyle 6'1" | 175 lbs | QB Charlotte Catholic | 2023 State NC – Charlotte Catholic – While Boyle won’t be able to play due to taking his official visit at West Virginia, he was a highly recruited player who was originally committed to Charlotte. He has great arm strength and accuracy – so much so that the traditional heavy-run Cougars installed some spread offense and became a much balanced offense this past season. Boyle was also known as one of the leaders on that team, and led them to a lot of high-scoring affairs as the defense had an atypical year for their program. He should continue to grow at the next level and be a very good quarterback over the next few years.
Dymere Edwards Dymere Edwards 6'4" | 225 lbs | QB Cox Mill | 2023 State NC – Cox Mill – Edwards had a great season for the Chargers, being named an All-Conference quarterback and leading them to the 2nd round of the State Playoffs. He has a very strong arm and can make all the throws – notably with good accuracy as well. Dymere has some great size at 6’4 and 225 pounds, and definitely appears to be a steal for a college at the next level as he has flown under the radar a bit from a recruiting perspective. Edwards also boasts a 3.9 GPA, which is a reflection of his intelligence both on and off the field.
Daylin Lee Daylin Lee 6'3" | 190 lbs | QB Shelby | 2023 State NC – Shelby – The first thing you think about with Daylin is that he’s a winner – he has two state championships under his belt as the starting QB for the Golden Lions. He has very good size at 6’3 and nearly 200 pounds. As of this writing, Daylin has not committed to a school just yet, but he has a number of offers from different in-state schools and a Division 1 offer to HBCU Mississippi Valley State as well. With a spread offense, a lot is put on the quarterback and Daylin’s reads and timing are top notch. He throws a great deep ball with touch and precision as well. He also has a great personality that allows players to gravitate toward him in general.
Justin Rocquemore Justin Rocquemore 5'11" | 180 lbs | QB Stuart Cramer | 2023 State NC – Stuart Cramer – The all-time passing yardage leader in Gaston County ends a great career in this All-Star Game. While Justin is not the biggest in physical size, he does a great job in being a dual-threat player and plays bigger than his frame. He threw for almost 2400 yards and 26 Touchdowns in his senior year, while also tacking on 551 rushing yards and an additional 8 rushing touchdowns. He also boasts a 4.33 GPA which should get him in just about any school he would like to attend while playing football at the next level.
Josh LeClair – Ardrey Kell – LeClair was added to the East Team when Boyle advised he could not play. LeClair was selected as an All-Conference Quarterback this season, and did an admirable job filling some big shoes left by Jack Curtis previously. LeClair shows some dual-threat ability, and when Ardrey Kell was at its best, he played well in both the rushing and throwing games, showing efficiency and getting the ball out to their talented receivers on the outside.
