We’re going to be covering a few of these young men. These include a 3 TD WR, a 3 TD RB that refused to go down playing through contact, a QB that just broke the single season IHSA rushing yard record with an 8 TD performance and more! Let’s dive into it!

We’re kicking things off with Mr. Erkman who had himself an impressive performance finishing the game with 2 receiving TDs and 1 KOR TD to cap off the win for his team. What was impressive about one of his TDs is how he was able to stack the defender quickly to win over the top and make a one hand catch just outside his reach before breaking vertical for 6. This young man’s foot quicks were on full display in the return game too as once he finds an alley he can set his team up in good starting field position. One area of his game that you need to keep an eye on is his release off the line of scrimmage, here he can gain either outside or inside release adjusting his routes accordingly to create separation from the defender. Once he does so, he can either win over top or secure the catch in traffic in a tight window. Overall, the University of North Dakota Commit showcased why he’s a Top 30 WR for his class in this state and isn’t done yet as Lake Zurich has the goal of making it to the state championship game. Joseph Gliatta
Joseph Gliatta
Mr. Gilatta took Princeton by storm in the 2nd half of this game as he was able to finish with 3 TDs on the night rushing close to 200 yards with only one half of football as the main ball carrier. One of his TDs was also in OT giving his team the lead and ultimately the win in a closely contested game. How was this young man able to be a force you might ask? Well, he continued to keep his feet driving through contact breaking weak grab tackles and refused to go down without a fight. There were many plays where he was either met in the backfield or at the line of scrimmage where he would shrug off the defender before breaking one or two more tackles before bring brought down for 5 or 6 yards it seemed like per carry. This young man was a workhorse in the 2nd half and needs to be on everyone’s radar if he isn’t already. Also plays inside linebacker for this defense as well. Twitter
Mr. Proudfoot is at the helm for Providence Catholic and finished the night with multiple passing TDs in their win over Richmond Burton. This young man’s ability to work both in platform and on the move are a threat to opposing defenses as he keeps his eyes downfield to keep the chains moving. When doing so, he can make all level throws (level 1, level 2, level 3) and isn’t afraid to add zip on the ball to fit it into tight windows at times. Not to mention his mobility is deadly as he has the ability to pull the ball down to scramble breaking long runs in the process if defender’s don’t put in a QB spy during passing downs. All in all, look for this young man to play a big part in their semi final matchup against St. Francis Saturday. Twitter
Jake Seman

Mr. Seman was able to finish his performance with 3 TDs, two coming in the air (34 yards & 24 yards) and one coming through the ground game on a 25 yard rushing TD. This dual threat QB is one to keep an eye on as if you take away his connection with Ethan Hinds Ethan Hinds 6’2″ | 190 lbs | WR Williamsville | 2023 State IL he can take it in himself using his foot quicks to gash opposing defenses. In terms of his arm talent, he can rip level 3 throws on deep shots downfield to his man Mr. Hinds to connect for big plays. One area that’s equally as impressive is how once he escapes the pocket he can get defenders to bite down to take away his legs which leaves a gap in zone coverage which he hits to find his receiver to keep the chains moving. All in all, you have to gameplan for this dual threat QB and if you don’t you’re going to be in for a long night. Twitter
Tyler Vasey
Tyler Vasey
Speaking of players you have to gameplan against, Mr. Vasey is in a league of his own this season being the NEW IHSA single season rushing yards record holder after his impressive performance. There’s only one other player that comes to might that had as much as a dominance in the ground game recently as this young man and that was Jordan Anderson – he’s now a Freshman on the University of Illinois football team. Moving back to Mr. Vasey, this young man finished with 481 rushing yards for 8 TDs off 29 carries. Yes, you read that right. His dominance Saturday is NOT an anomaly either, throughout the season he has been a menace to opposing defenses and has just now started to get looks from G5 FBS institutions. There’s no doubt this young man can ball, he just needs the opportunity. Diving into his specific skill set, he’s a shifty elusive type back that has tremendous body control making defenders miss in open space and as he’s getting through the hole. Not to mention he has a good burst through the hole to gain a step on 2nd level defenders before breaking long runs for 6. Overall, this young man’s stock is rising fast and teams need to get eyes on him now. Twitter
Mr. Dowling might have had the most impressive QB stat line for a first half performance that I’ve seen so far this season. In one half of play, he finished with 313 passing yards for 5 TDs going up 40 to 0 at the half. How was he able to do such a thing you might ask? By going through progressions when working in platform standing strong in the pocket to get the ball off under pressure. Not to mention his ability to work on the move keeping his eyes downfield to find his man to keep the chains moving. One area of his game to watch during their semi-final matchup is his mobility as he can get opposing defenders to bite down once he escapes the pocket leaving huge windows for this young man to take advantage of.
