Tommy Elter
Tommy Elter
Mr. Elter showcased his ability to not only add zip on level 1 throws but put touch on deep shots downfield when making level 3 throws – both of which he can his receivers in stride. This young man does a good job of driving off his backfoot to add extra velocity on the ball as well to fit the ball into tight windows through traffic. He’s more of a Pro Style QB but does has some mobility to him as he can run the option and flashes his ability to break long runs to keep the chains moving when doing so. This young man finished with 1 TD and 1 INT on the night as it was very windy so once it got into the redzone the rushing attack was the main focus. With that being said, be sure to watch this young man’s arm talent during this week’s playoff contest. Twitter
Mr. Branch has been on my radar for some time now as a tight end and he put on a full display Friday night. He primarily works out of the slot and when he does so he can not only find the soft spot in zone coverage but also secure the catch in traffic and get vertical once he secures the catch. When he does so, he keeps his feet driving to break weak grab tackles gaining extra yards on the play. What stands out the most about this young man is how he can use his long reach to secure deep shots downfield when the ball seems to be just outside his reach. This young man can also work as a wildcat QB which is how he got into the endzone in the 1st quarter. A high potential tight end that holds an offer from Northern Michigan University. Twitter
Highlights
Filip Rolek
Filip Rolek
Mr. Rolek works on the D-Line and was a menace on the defensive side of the ball all night long for Palatine. This young man can scrape off the edge to secure chasedown tackles for little to no gain on the play and has the ability to secure tackles outside his frame not allowing the ball carrier to break free. He did so on more than one occasion while he’s still engages with the run block which was impressive to say the least. What stood out the most about this young man is how consistently he was able to slip blocks to disrupt plays in the backfield completely shutting down Minooka’s running game for the entire night. He also flashes his ability to work through the whistle on passing downs to generate QB pressure at times as well. Twitter
Mr. Ball is easily one of the top RBs we have in Illinois for the class of 2024 and he showcased why Friday night finishing the game with 4 TDs off 20 carries for 171 yards. This young man was able to do so with deadly foot quicks through the hole which he uses to break long runs when doing so. Pair this with his vision to find running lanes quickly and ability to break weak grab tackles to play through contact you can see why he had such a dominant performance in Round 2 of the playoffs. Not to mention his elusiveness to make defenders miss in open space and threat he can pose in the air attack. Safe to say Palatine is very happy to have this very talented young man on their team. Highlights
Connor May
Connor May
Mr. May works as a X receiver on the outside and has a stellar frame standing at 6’6 200. This young man came away with a TD in the 2nd and did so by tracking the ball well as he went up for the 50/50 ball to secure the contested catch. It is important to note that this young man is also a basketball star as well which is where you can see some of the similar traits transitioning to the gridiron this fall season. He’s a young up and coming receiver that has a ton of upside, be sure to get eyes on him now before his stock blows up. Twitter
Rocco Paddack
Rocco Paddack
Mr. Paddack is a defensive back that did a good job all night long securing open field tackles in the flat for minimal gains on the play. He also isn’t afraid to deliver the heavy hit in the flat forcing pass breakups either. One play that stood out the most from his Friday night’s performance was in the 3rd when he came away with an interception. He did so by undercutting the route and high pointing to come away with the takeaway switching momentum back into Palatine’s favor. As we move further into playoff action, keep an eye on this young man in the secondary as he could very well prove to be the X factor in a close contest. Twitter
TJ Luckett
TJ Luckett
Mr. Luckett is the backup halfback that showcased what he could do for the remainder part of this game. Here, he’s used in the air attack running a swing route out of the backfield where he can get vertical quickly and then use his elusiveness to make defenders miss in open space. He can also break long runs on outside the tackle runs using his lateral quickness to turn the corner. His ability shown in this contest have me very interested to see what his full season highlights look like and what his full potential is.
