Mr. Cyr has been on my radar for some time now and being able to see him in action confirms that he’s a top QB in the state for his class. This young man is able to make all level throws both adding some zip on the ball and adding a touch – both of which he put the ball into the receivers basket and has a fluid arm motion. This young man is more of a pro style QB that has some mobility to him when he runs the option which he got into the endzone by doing so. What I’m excited to see out of this young man as Hoffman Estates advances is how he’s a game clock manager being at the helm and how he goes through his progressions to keep the chains moving. Keep a close eye on this young man. Twitter
Quincy Williams
Quincy Williams
Mr. Williams is a new name to me this fall season and wow I can’t believe I didn’t have him on my radar sooner. This young man’s foot quicks through the hole is impressive as he bursts through and can keep his feet driving through contact breaking weak grab tackles in the process. When he does so this resulted in him breaking long runs on plays as he’s a hard runner that doesn’t go down easily. This is how he got into the endzone twice finishing with 2 TDs in Saturday’s game. His 2nd TD was impressive as he was met in the hole and with his leg drive through the whistle ended up playing through contact and getting into the endzone from 5 yards out. Let’s not forget the threat he poses in the air attack either securing swing routes out of the backfield and running halfback screens. Both of which he plants his foot into the ground and gets vertical quickly. All in all, this young man is primed to have one heck of a Senior season campaign next year and is a sure fire bet to see his recruiting pick up once this season is over. Twitter
Mr. Sellers is a receiver that can win over the top as he’s quick off the line of scrimmage and can stack the defender quickly using a speed cut to gain separation on deep shots downfield. This young man can secure the catch in traffic and once he secures the catch he gets vertical quickly using his foot quicks to break long runs. What stands out the most about this young man isn’t his stellar receiving skills, rather it’s his ability to get involved in the run game stalk blocking on the perimeter – this is what separates good receivers from great receivers and it’s amazing to see this young man doing so at such a young age. All in all, this young man can work back to the ball and adjust last second to secure deep shots downfield – an overall playmaker in the air attack. Twitterrn
Julian Bonilla
Julian Bonilla
Mr. Bonilla is a new name to me this fall season and one that I’m impressed with. This young man was able to get his hands up when coming on a blitz forcing a pass breakup and came off the edge a few times generating pressure on the QB – in on instance he came away with a sack. Let’s not forget his ability to close quickly on the ball carrier in run support either as he plugs gaps to secure the tackle for little to no gain on the play. A young man to keep an eye on. Twitter
Mr. Anderson was having himself a day during his pass rush being a menace throughout the entire game. This all happens with his quick first step where he can work in either a swim move or bull rush to generate QB pressure. When he does use his bull rush, he drove the offensive center back collapsing the pocket forcing the opposing QB to either escape or take the sack. His relentless pass rush resulted in a handful of pressures and sacks on the day and he came away with a crucial QB pressure on 4th down forcing a turnover on downs. This young man can also use his quick first step to slip blocks to disrupt plays in the backfield in run support as well. All in all, this young man came to play and no matter what Elk Grove tried to do it didn’t slow him down one bit. Twitter
Xavier Martinez
Xavier Martinez
Mr. Martinez is another receiver that Hoffman Estate has that is a threat in the air attack. This young man is quick off the line of scrimmage to win over top and has deadly foot quicks. He can take an underneath route and get vertical quickly to keep the chains moving where he plays through contact fighting for extra yards on plays. As opposing defenses hone in on stopping Stephon Sellers Stephon Sellers 5’9″ | 170 lbs | WR Hoffman Estates | 2024 IL , look for this young man to come through big for his team.
Honorable Mention
Eric McCollough 24′ DL 6’3 180
