- Tupelo (11-0)
Outside of Lee County one would have been hard pressed in the pre-season to find anyone that expected the Golden Wave to go undefeated thru the regular season. Quite an impressive year by Coach Ty Hardin’s bunch. Jeremiah Harrell Jeremiah Harrell 6'2" | 180 lbs | QB Tupelo | 2024 State MS has blossomed at QB and will be a name to watch as a senior next year.
This week: vs. Lewisburg
2. Ocean Springs (10-0)
A dynamic Greyhound offense went for 43 points again last week against Harrison Central. Can the Greyhounds run the table in the south half of the state?
This week: vs. Northwest Rankin
3. Picayune (11-0)
We knew last week would be a test and it was just that as the Maroon Tide had to go to OT to win vs. Gautier.
This week: vs. Laurel
4. Brandon (9-1)
The Bulldogs have bounced back with consecutive wins against Northwest Rankin and Pearl after dropping their only matchup of the season to Oak Grove three weeks ago. No one will be excited about seeing Brandon moving forward.
This week: vs. Hancock
5. Louisville (10-1)
The Wildcats STILL haven’t given up a point since early October after shutting out Greenwood last week.
This week: vs. Ripley
6. Warren Central (9-1)
The Vikings ended the regular season on a 5 game winning streak but have one of the tastiest matchups of round 1 in 6A this week.
This week: @ Gulfport
7. Poplarville (10-1)
Pass Christian was no match for the Hornets in last week’s opening round of the playoffs.
This week: vs. Newton County
8. Oak Grove (9-2)
No one is hotter in state right now that Oak Grove. The Warriors have peaked at the perfect time.
This week: vs. Biloxi
9. Itawamba AHS (11-0)
No issues for the Indians in round 1. SR QB Ty Davis is seeing his recruitment blow up down the home stretch.
This week: vs. Senatobia
10. Southaven (10-0)
The Chargers won Region 1-6A and blew out Horn Lake last week to end the regular season. Scary game in round 1.
This week: vs. Starkville
