Smith

Central Catholic | 2025
State
OR
5-11 175 ATH Central Catholic- A lot is yet to be determined but as of right now Smith has the potential of being the top player in Oregon for the 2025 class. In limited time last season, he averaged 23.5 yards per carry for the state champs.
UPDATE: One of the most versatile kids in the region. Expect him to have a handful of division 1 offers before the end of the season as he will rarely leave the field.
2022 SEASON UPDATE: Zhaiel backed up his #1 ranking in a big way, catching 35 passes for 739 yards (21.7 ypc) and 13 TDs on the year. He was also impressive on D making 33 total tackles, with 5 PBUs, and 1 INT, earning 1st team all Mt Hood honors.
2. Zachary Davis Zachary Davis 6'1" | 225 lbs | LB Central Catholic | 2025 State OR 6-1 220 OLB/DE Central Catholic- Davis had an impressive off season, traveling the country and getting on multiple division 1 boards. He will be highly recruited for the returning state champs.
2022 SEASON UPDATE: Davis has film which speaks for itself. His fluidity and ability to maneuver is special. As a sophomore he made 43 total tackles, with 8 tackles for loss, and 3.5 sacks on the season.
3. Mana Tuioti Mana Tuioti 5'11" | 210 lbs | LB Sheldon | 2025 State OR 5-11 210 LB Sheldon
2022 SEASON UPDATE: I would expect Oregon and many others to offer in the near future. Tuioti had an unreal sophomore season, making 66 total tackles, with 7.5 tackles for loss, and 3 INTs. He brings a lot to the table you can’t teach.
4. Avirey Durdahl Avirey Durdahl 6'0" | 185 lbs | QB Adrienne Nelson | 2025 State OR 6-0 180 QB Nelson- One of the most respected QB trainers in the West called this kid “the real deal and a major D1 recruit”. He started 4 games as a freshman, throwing 10 TDs/4 INTs for the brand-new HS. Expect a big off season on the 7v7 circuit.
UPDATE: They will let Durdahl do his thing and air it out this coming season, after hitting on 62% of his passes as a freshman. The new HS returns a host of talent and experience, to go with a couple of impressive transfers.
2022 SEASON UPDATE: Look for Durdahl to have a big off season on the camp circuit and blow up as a junior. He earned 2nd team all-conference honors behind 2x Mt Hood Conference POY Cru Newman Cru Newman 6'0" | 185 lbs | QB Central Catholic | 2024 State OR , throwing 18 TDs/ 2INTs and hitting on 61% of his passes.
5. Jake Normoyle Jake Normoyle 6'4" | 295 lbs | OL West Linn | 2025 State OR 6-4 275 OL West Linn- Normoyle will end up playing D1 ball at some level and potentially starting as a Sophomore for the #1 ranked team in the state. His projection will depend on continued growth as he will be a multiyear 1st team all-state kid.
2022 SEASON UPDATE: Maybe the fastest rising lineman in the entire NW. Normoyle earned 1st team all-conference honors in the brutally tough TRL, showing flashes similar to former West Linn great and current Ducks center Alex Forsyth.
6. Baron Naone Baron Naone 6'4" | 225 lbs | TE West Linn | 2025 State OR 6-4 220 TE/OLB West Linn- A big physical presence who projects as one of Oregon’s top recruits for the class. Dad played at Oregon St. You can’t teach the size, with the Lions having the potential of going on a multi-year state title run with athletes like Naone.
UPDATE: Naone has killed it on the diamond where the Lions just won the 6A state baseball title. While he projects as an unquestioned D1 football talent his versatility is impressive.
2022 SEASON UPDATE: Naone will be a 1st team all state kid on both sides of the ball in the coming seasons. The D1 genes and overall athleticism help put his potential into perspective. He earned 2nd team all TRL honors defensively and honorable mention accolades at TE.
7. Jace Eveland Jace Eveland 6'7" | 300 lbs | OL Redmond | 2025 State OR 6-7 315 T Putnam- This kid isn’t just big, He earned 1st team all-conference honors as a freshman for a program which has struggled, making the accolades all the more impressive. From a projection standpoint size is necessary these days so look for him to do well on the recruiting front in the years ahead.
UPDATE: The size speaks for itself as Eveland had an outstanding off season, training with one of the nation’s best out of Seattle in FSP, and being only the 2nd freshman ever to play in the Les Schwab Bowl.
2022 SEASON UPDATE: For the 2nd year in a row Eveland earned 1st team all-league honors and was named the NWOC’s lineman of the year. Special accolades for such a young athlete. The biggest question marks come with the lack of competition on the Kingsmen schedule.
8. Zyon Floyd Zyon Floyd 5'11" | 175 lbs | ATH Lakeridge | 2025 State OR 5-10 165 ATH Lakeridge- One of the top athletes on the west coast for his class. Floyd comes from a talented family and will be the best of the bunch. Look for him to start in the secondary for the Pacers this season and be one of the top offensive threats in Oregon in the coming years.
2022 SEASON UPDATE: Floyd was injured early in the year and missed most of the season. That said as he will be one of the state’s best, and project as a 1st team all TRL kid and POY candidate the next two seasons.
9. Hudson Hardy Hudson Hardy 6'3" | 220 lbs | ATH West Linn | 2025 State OR 6-3 205 RB/OLB West Linn- A future POY candidate, expect to hear a lot about him in the years ahead. His ability to maneuver out of the backfield at 6-3 is unique, rushing for 1000+ yards and 13 TDs at the freshman level this past season.
UPDATE: I think Hardy will eventually blow up. Look for him to get legit time on a ridiculously deep Lions team, where he can play multiple spots on both sides of the ball.
2022 SEASON UPDATE: I would expect Hardy to be one of the state’s statistical leaders from his RB spot while potentially projecting as one of the top OLB’s in the West. The kid can play.
10. Oliver Macy Oliver Macy 6'4" | 220 lbs | DL Lake Oswego | 2025 State OR 6-3 200 OLB/RB Lake Oswego- The younger, yet bigger brother, of 1st team all TRL LB Calvin Macy Calvin Macy 6'2" | 200 lbs | LB Lake Oswego | 2023 State OR . The Lakers have a host of talented young kids with size, who could get on the field early, after graduating a talented senior class.
UPDATE: Macy could be one of the best in the TRL this season with the Lakers graduating a talented senior class. He is physically elite and has outstanding genes with his brother holding multiple D1 offers.
2022 SEASON UPDATE: The Lakers were young finishing (7-4) but had underclassmen like Macy step up and play beyond his years. He will project as a 1st team all-league and all state kid the next two seasons.
11. Nolan Keeney Nolan Keeney 6'4" | 205 lbs | QB Tualatin | 2025 State OR 6-5 205 QB Westview- Keeney has the potential of being a major D1 recruit. His running ability compliments his size and arm strength. You will hear a lot about this kid, playing for one of the state’s fastest rising programs.
UPDATE: Usually when a team loses the #1 ranked QB in the state they suffer, referencing the loss of Leavitt. That said as I see the Cats being a potential top 10 6A team under Keeney’s leadership this season.
2022 SEASON UPDATE: When you have a back going for close to 300 yards each week the stats won’t always do you justice. Keeney hit on 55% of his passes (81/147), throwing 8 TDs/5 INTs. He also showed off his overall athletcism, rushing 92 times for 359 (4 ypc) yards and 4 TDs.
12. Jackson Doman Jackson Doman 6'5" | 205 lbs | ATH Canby | 2025 State OR 6-5 185 OLB/WR Canby- Another Doman. This one could be the best which is saying something for anyone familiar with the bloodline. Jackson played varsity ball as a freshman and will be part of a talented group coming up for head coach Jimmy Joyce.
2022 SEASON UPDATE: Doman had an outstanding year on the defensive side of the ball but the Cougars were young and had some key injuries. On the year he made 46 total tackles, with 3 tackles for loss, and a sack. Expect him to be a big contributor offensively the next two seasons.
13. Liam Davis Liam Davis 6'1" | 175 lbs | ATH Lake Oswego | 2025 State OR 6-1 170 QB/Safety/ATH Lake Oswego- Played varsity ball as a freshman and will be a major player in the years ahead. Could very well start both ways next season. He will be a big part of the Lakers future and a top athlete within Oregon.
UPDATE: One of the most impressive off seasons of any player on this list. Davis is known for his overall athleticism but looked like a dude at QB.
2022 SEASON UPDATE: One of the most impressive sophomores in the state of Oregon. To say he stepped up and proved himself would be an understatement. His playoff performance versus North Medford summarized his season well, going 20 of 23 for 287 yards and 3 TDs.
14. Madden Tanuvasa Madden Tanuvasa 6'0" | 175 lbs | DB Mountainside | 2025 State OR 6-0 170 DB Mountainside
2022 SEASON UPDATE: Tanuvasa comes from an impressive family with D1 genes. His brother Pepe is one of BYU’s leading tacklers at OLB, with brother Layton being the former TRL defensive POY. Madden stepped up big as a sophomore, scoring multiple TDs offensively and earning all-conference honors on D.
15. Brayden Boe Brayden Boe 6'3" | 175 lbs | ATH Mountainside | 2025 OR 6-4 175 WR/OLB Mountainside- Boe is already garnering D1 offers in hoops and has that type of potential on the football field. You can’t teach the size, genes (Dad D1 hooper), and overall athleticism.
UPDATE: It looks like he will pursue basketball but don’t be surprised if he receives similar attention on the football field as he is a freak athlete.
2022 SEASON UPDATE: Boe earned 1st team all-league honors on O, leading the conference in TD receptions, while averaging 20+ yards per catch. He was also a standout on defense racking up 2nd team all-Metro accolades. Easily one of the most complete athletes in the NW.
16. Zac Stascausky Zac Stascausky 6'5" | 270 lbs | OL Central Catholic | 2025 State OR 6-5 245 OL/DL Central Catholic
2022 SEASON UPDATE: One of the fastest rising players in the state. Stascausky earned 2nd team all Mt Hood honors and has the necessary size and athleticism to blow up with continued progression.
17. Hudson Whipple Hudson Whipple 6'5" | 225 lbs | TE West Salem | 2025 State OR 6-5 215 TE West Salem
2022 SEASON UPDATE: Speaking of talented families. Brother Holden Whipple is now playing O line at Oregon after transferring from Northern Arizona. Hudson separates himself with his size and overall athleticism (basketball). Look for him to be a featured athlete at West the next two seasons.
18. Brody Thomas Brody Thomas 6'2" | 205 lbs | LB Sheldon | 2025 State OR 6-1 205 RB/S Sheldon- The brother of all everything D1 athlete Brock Thomas Brock Thomas 6'0" | 175 lbs | QB Sheldon | 2023 State OR . The Irish are super deep this season with an incredibly talented senior class, so it might be another year, but he is one of Oregon’s best for the class.
2022 SEASON UPDATE: Thomas got limited time as part of a loaded Irish group, but the genes speak for themselves, as he will be tough to stop out of the backfield.
19. Wyatt Smiley Wyatt Smiley 6'4" | 180 lbs | WR West Linn | 2025 State OR 6-3 170 WR/DB West Linn- Get used to this kids name as Smiley should be a factor on both sides of the football, impressing with his overall athleticism (basketball). He possesses a unique combination of size and agility.
2022 SEASON UPDATE:2022 SEASON UPDATE: Smiley earned honorable mention all-league honors as a sophomore in the state’s toughest conference. Look for him to be one of Oregon’s top wideouts as a junior.
20. Kaden Martirano Kaden Martirano 6'2" | 205 lbs | QB West Salem | 2025 State OR 6-2 190 QB West Salem- Head Coach Shawn Stanley is one of Oregon’s all-time greats. He has coached some of the state’s top QB’s and overall athletes, and Martirano has the potential of being in that conversation.
UPDATE: Martirano will have an opportunity to break records for West with Coach Stanley coaching and producing some of the state’s top QBs and overall talent, over the last few decades.
2022 SEASON UPDATE: Martirano was hurt and missed most season but looks to be the real deal. Expect West to come back in a big way next year and be a conference title contender.
21. Maliq Smith Maliq Smith 5'11" | 175 lbs | ATH Tualatin | 2025 State OR 5-11 165 RB/S Glencoe
2022 SEASON UPDATE: Smith had a breakout sophomore season going for close to 1000 rushing and receiving yards and double-digit TDs. As good as he was on offense, he may project on D.
22. Suliasi Laulaupeaalu Suliasi Laulaupeaalu 6'4" | 335 lbs | OL Sherwood | 2025 State OR 6-4 360 OL Sherwood- The big man earned honorable mention all-conference honors as a freshman on the O line, and moves well for a kid still so young with his size. With continued progression he could be a legit recruit at the D1 level.
UPDATE: The big man returns on one of the most talented and experienced lines in the state. The only question comes with mobility and how they will use him on D, as he literally counts as two people, helping to offset numbers.
2022 SEASON UPDATE: You can’t argue with the size and potential. This will once again come down to progression and how fluid and mobile he plays moving forward.
23. Landon Fay Landon Fay 6'3" | 260 lbs | DL McMinnville | 2025 State OR 6-3 235 DE/OLB McMinnville- It’s rare to see a kid with his combination of size and fluidity at such a young age. He could end up as a DE or somewhere up front, projecting as one of the top defenders in Oregon.
UPDATE: This kid could be special. The Grizzlies have not been a traditional power but Fay projects as a 1st team all-conference kid this year and one of the best in the state for his class.
2022 SEASON UPDATE: Fay went for over 60 tackles and finished 2nd in the conference in tackles for loss (15). He plays the LB spot by I see him as more of a D end at the next level. Regardless he is one of the best in the state for his class.
24. Tau Takau Tau Takau 6'2" | 220 lbs | LB Roosevelt | 2025 State OR 6-2 215 LB Roosevelt- As noted Coach McCants has done a phenomenal job with this Roughriders program. Takau is an unquestioned division 1 talent that will be in the PIL POY conversation the next three seasons.
2022 SEASON UPDATE: Takau has the potential to be special coming from a talented family. He earned 2nd team all PIL honors this past season, and should compete with teammate Dexter Foster Dexter Foster 6'4" | 210 lbs | LB Central Catholic | 2024 State OR for POY honors next season.
25. Enrike Aguilar Enrike Aguilar 6'3" | 240 lbs | DL North Salem | 2025 State OR 6-2 240 DE North Salem- Aguilar has all the potential in the world. He was an underclass MVP at the PRZ event in Oregon a few months back, and should be an immediate factor for the Celts on D.
2022 SEASON UPDATE: One of the fastest rising young DE/OLB prospects in the region. He was one of the only sophomores in the conference to earn all-league honors (2nd team).
