La’akea Kalama La’akea Kalama 5'10" | 180 lbs | WR Skyridge | 2024 State UT || WR || 5’11 || 180 || Skyridge Football || 2024
Kalama makes plays every time he touches the ball, and that didn’t change in Skyridge’s 45-20 win against Bingham. Kalama hauled in five catches for 90 yards and made the play of the game on one reception in particular. The explosive receiver was running a shallow crosser and caught the pass two yards beyond the line of scrimmage when he went into video game mode. Kalama would turn on the jets and toss defenders out of the way as he scored the 45-yard catch and run touchdown. He broke three tackles on the play and will be breaking more come Friday’s championship game.
Ben Stucki || WR || 6’2 || 175 || Farmington High School || 2023
No receiver came down with more incredible catches in the semifinals than Stucki. The 6’2 wideouts does a great job high-pointing the ball and fighting through contact to secure significant gains. Stucki has good speed that allows him to get behind defenses, and he tracks the ball exceptionally well. In addition, he does a good job adjusting to the ball to make difficult catches over the middle of the field or down the sideline. It may have been the sure-handed wideouts’ final game, but he made quite the impression.
Feleti Iongi || WR || 5’10 || 160 || Orem High School || 2025
Iongi is one of the state’s shiftiest players. In open space, he’s nearly impossible to bring down and constantly breaks ankles like he’s a basketball star. His footwork and body control are impressive and allow him to stay on his feet and shake off tacklers. These skills also make him a remarkable route runner, where he easily can change direction and create separation on the outside. Against Timpview, he went off for over 100 total yards and a touchdown. Iongi is just a Sophomore meaning his days of making plays are far from over.
Jackson Ames || WR || 6’2 || 180 || Corner Canyon High School || 2023
No one had scored in a gritty first quarter of football between the Chargers and Farmington Phoenix. With only a few seconds remaining in the opening period, everyone assumed the score would stay at 0, but Jackson Ames ensured that would change. With the Chargers backed up in their own five, Ames slipped behind the Phoenix defense and, after one cut, took off toward the end zone. He broke two tackles and outran the rest of the Farmington secondary for the 95-yard score. Ames would finish the game with 123 yards to help the Chargers reach the title game.
