There’s been a shift since the last time I spotlighted these WR’s, with some new players coming into the top five and some dropping out. There’s several highly recruited players as well as some under the radar prospects. At Prep Redzone we will always try and Spotlight as many players and Prospects as possible in a weekly basis.
1. Vandrevious Jacobs- Vero Beach High c/o 23
6’1 170lbs
Jacobs dominated the regular season and comes in at number one in the State of Florida after registering an outstanding 84 receptions for 1,352 yd, and an unbelievable 19 touchdown receptions! The FSU commit averaged 123 yards receiving per game in 2022. He helped Vero Beach advance to the second round of the state playoffs with a win against Harmony High. Jacobs is an explosive player that’s one of the more highly recruited receivers in Florida.
2. Kenari Wilcher Kenari Wilcher 6'0" | 170 lbs | QB Tallahassee Chiles | 2023 FL – Moore Haven High c/o 23
6’1 185lbs
Wilcher has been a standout all season long for Moore Haven High. The Illinois commit was a big playmaker all season registering 47 catches for 1,229 yards and 13 touchdowns. He also helped out on the defensive side of the ball with 37 tackles. Wilcher possesses explosive speed and acceleration, very difficult player to defend one-on-one.
3. Akeem Stokes- Escambia High c/o 23
5’8 170lbs
Stokes is an under the radar player out of Pensacola, Florida and someone coaches need to check out asap. He finished third in the state with 71 receptions for 1,124 yards, averaging 16 yd per catch with seven touchdown receptions. He averaged over 102 yards receiving per game. He’s a prototype slot that has very good short area quickness, possesses the ability to run with the ball, showing vision and contact balance, and has very good hands to make tough catches in traffic.
4. Isaiah Hudson- Sickles High c/o 24
5’11 170lbs
Hudson had one of the best individual seasons in the Tampa Bay area history. He was a major bright spot for the Sickles Gryphons in 2022. His route running and electric playmaking allowed him to finish 4th in the state with 70 receptions for 1,117 yards and eight touchdowns. He averaged 112 yards receiving per game. Hudson was a first team all district selection this season. Coaches need to check him out ASAP.
5. Ahmari Borden Ahmari Borden 6'3" | 180 lbs | WR Quincy Munroe Day | 2023 State FL – Munroe High c/o 23
6’4 190lbs
Borden was an outstanding big time playmaker this season for Monroe High located in Quincy, Florida. He cracked the top five in the state this season despite being the focal point of opposing defenses he still reeled off 49 catches for 1115 yards, averaging 23 yards per catch with five receiving touchdowns. The two sport athlete (Basketball) also plays on both sides of the ball showing off his versatility where he registered 33 tackles. Borden is a four-star prospect that has over 16 offers and is currently committed to Stanford University.
