There’s been a shift since the last time I spotlighted these QB’s; with some new players coming into the top five and some dropping out. There’s several highly recruited players as well as some under the radar prospects. At Prep Redzone we will always try and Spotlight as many players and Prospects as possible in a weekly basis.
1. Sabby Meassick Sabby Meassick 6'0" | 180 lbs | QB Tohopekaliga | 2026 State FL – Tohopekaliga High c/o 26
6’0 165lbs
It’s not very often you see a freshman lead the state in any category, but Meassick has done exactly that in 2022. He’s had an unbelievable year and the freshman finished first in the State of Florida with 3,044 passing yards, completing 65% of his passes with 38 touchdowns and a 97.6 QB rating. He’ll be one of the top players in Florida returning for the next few seasons to keep an eye on.
2. Jayce Nixon- Gaither High c/o 25
6’0 195
Gaither High has had a rich quarterback tradition over the years and Nixon is the next in line. The sophomore prospect finished second in the State throwing for 2,801 yards, completing 62% of his passes with 33 touchdowns and a QB rating of 122.7. He also shows the ability to beat you with his legs and rushed for 165 yards, averaging over six yards per. He’s led the Cowboys to a 6-4 record and into the playoffs. His stock is on the rise and he’s currently receiving a lot of interest from Mississippi State.
3. Michael Grant Michael Grant 6'3" | 190 lbs | QB Tallahassee Maclay | 2023 FL – Maclay High c/o 23
6’3 190lbs
Grant was leading the State when I first previewed the rankings in week two. In the end he had an outstanding season and finished third in the state in passing throwing for 2,718 yd, completing 66% of his passes with 30 touchdown passes and a QB rating of 116.4. He also had 64 yards rushing and a touchdown on the ground. Grant is a solid prospect that displays good intelligence and throws with really good accuracy at all three levels. His recruiting should start heating up now that the season’s over
4. JP Pickles- North Florida Christian High c/o 24
