Continue ReadingIt’s been nothing short of perfection this season for Dolgeville and that perfection has led them right to the JMA Wireless Dome (formerly known as the Carrier Dome) for a chance to win the Class D Section Three Title against Beaver River. Dolgeville enters the matchup with a spotless record of 9-0 but the more impressive thing has been the way they have done it all year long. Only one team truly tested the Blue Devils and that was Mount Markham Week 6 when they squeaked by with a 6-0 victory. Other than that, the name of the game has been dominance showcasing a solid group of Upperclassmen. This season Dolgeville has scored 384 points while only giving up an astounding 73 points all year. Offensively they average 43 points per game while allowing a measly 8 points for an average margin of victory of 35. The ground is where they have been getting most of their work done by carrying the ball 294 times for 2,373 yards and 31 Touchdowns. This ground and pound style of play has been complimented with an efficient aerial attack which has compiled 669 yards, 13 Touchdowns and just 2 Interceptions. On the Defensive side of the ball the Blue Devils have accounted for 10 Sacks, 8 Interceptions, 14 Fumble Recoveries, 4 Forced Fumbles and 4 Sacks. Dominance has been the story all year long for Dolgeville and these are the players that have led the way.
Jared Bilinski a Senior Running Back/Defensive Lineman is a strong, physical and tough player overall. Running the ball he gets downhill in a hurry and even though he doesn’t have explosive speed, his size and physicality makes it nearly impossible for one defender to bring him down on their own. Offensively he has 126 carries for 1,207 yards, 14 Touchdowns and 3 Two Point Conversions. Bilinski has also shown his prowess on the Defensive side of the ball with 35 Tackles, 2 Fumble Recoveries, 1.5 Sacks, 1 Interception and 1 Fumble Recovery for a Touchdown. He has led the Blue Devils all year long and would be a great fit at the D3 level in the Empire 8 League as either an Inside Linebacker, Defensive Lineman or a Tight End/H Back.
Cade Mosher a Junior has been a highly effective signal caller on Offense as well as a solid Defensive Back for Dolgeville this season. Mosher is a sound decision maker with good speed and quickness laterally as well as a strong explosive first few steps. He has been extremely effective throwing the ball completing 73% of his passes for 651 yards, 13 Touchdowns with just 2 Interceptions. On the ground he has 35 carries for 230 yards and 4 Touchdowns. Also assisting on Defense he has tallied up 14 Tackles and 1 Interception on the year. Mosher will be a key player this Friday in the Dome and projects as a solid D3 Defensive Back or Receiver.
Kamryn Comstock another Senior is a huge target for the Blue Devils who also utilizes his size on the Defensive Line. He is a big body who utilizes his size well to create space, get open and has reliable hands. On the season he has recorded 18 catches for 368 yards, 7 Touchdowns as well as 13 Tackles and a Fumble Recovery. It’s tough not to notice Comstock’s size, Beaver River definitely will and colleges should most certainly notice as his size can’t be taught. At the next level he could easily be transformed into an effective Tight End or Offensive Tackle.
Cameron Dager a Senior has been strong on both sides of the ball for Dolgeville as a Linebacker and Running Back. Dager is very similar to Bilinski as he runs the ball hard, gets downhill in a hurry and is going to break through any arm tackle. Through nine games he has 60 carries for 404 yards, 5 Touchdowns and Defensively he has 20 Tackles and a Fumble Recovery. Dager will be a big part of the Dolgeville game plan this week and could certainly be a part of a D3 schools game plan in the future as an Inside Linebacker.
Kolbi Hadden has proven to be a very valuable Senior as a Linebacker this season as well. Hadden is another strong, physical player that has a nose for the ball and a knack for hitting the gap and finishing tackles. This season has seen him total up 73 Tackles, 2 Sacks and 1 Interception. Hadden will be key on the Defensive side of the ball this Friday night. He could see the field at the next level as an Inside Linebacker for a D3 school on Saturdays.
Dolgeville comes in undefeated and the clear favorite for this Title Match. These will be the key guys to factor in for the Blue Devils taking the crown home from the Dome.
