With that in mind, and with the focus directly on the student/athletes, we continue to take a look the football prospects who produced in 2022.
As we have brought you the top quarterbacks, receiver, running backs and linebackers, today we focus in on those defensive secondary performers who made an impact by producing.
As many athletes continue to get recruited on their size and potential, our objective has always been on production. The numbers they put up made an impact on their team.
While there are so many major college football prospects who continue to receive offers for their speed, height, weight and what they offer in the way of a future, our objective is to get those prospects who put up the numbers some of the equal spotlight.
The senior class was not only productive but deep with quality playmakers such as Jaremiah Anglin Jr Jaremiah Anglin Jr 6'1" | 185 lbs | TE Lake Wales | 2023 State FL . (6-2, 190, Lake Wales), Justin Bostic (5-11, 175, Wellington Palm Beach Central), Christopher Brown Christopher Brown 6'3" | 170 lbs | DB Pembroke Pines Somerset Academy | 2023 FL (6-3, 190, Pembroke Pines Somerset Academy), Jayce Brown (6-0, 160, Fort Walton Beach Choctawhatchee), Joseph Clukey (6-4, 180, St. Cloud), JonJon Delgado (5-11, 175, Miami True North Classical Academy), Chavaris Dumas (5-10, 175, Palatka), Devan Lamar (5-8, 150, Fort Lauderdale Stranahan), Xavier Marlow (5-10, 175, Lake Wales) and Sheldon Patrick (5-11, 175, Crescent City).
The depth at the position also featured Jeremiah Jean-Phillips (5-11, 205, Pembroke Pines Charter), Rickey Ransom (6-0, 175, Tallahassee St. John Paul II), Dylan Redmon (6-1, 195, Vero Beach St. Edward’s), Javan Williams (6-0, 155, Tampa Middleton) and Tampa Gaither’s Eugene Wilson III Eugene Wilson III 5'11" | 165 lbs | ATH Tampa Gaither | 2023 State FL , 5-11, 175).
DEEP UNDERCLASS GIVES PROMISE FOR THE FUTURE
As impressive as the senior class was this season, the underclassmen also showcased a bright future. Among the Class of 2024 standouts were Kyle Bolston (6-0 175, Jacksonville Trinity Christian), Carlton Cogdell (5-8, 180, Jacksonville Westside), Jayden Josue (5-10, 170, Pembroke Pines Charter), Angel Miles (6-1, 185, Dade City Pasco), Amare Sanders Amare Sanders 6'1" | 165 lbs | DB Miami Gulliver Prep | 2024 State FL (5-11, 175, Lake Wales), Tristan Mitchum (6-0, 165, Lithia Newsome), Kai-El Pascal (6-0, 160, Miami Dr. Krop), Kenneth Pembleton (6-0, 150, Miami Archbishop Carroll) and Jacksonville Engelwood’s Jalen Scarver (6-4, 195).
The Class of 2025 also is worth watching with prospects like Amani Allen (5-9, 170, Lake Placid)
Davion Dean (5-9, 160, Glen St. Mary Baker County), Rico Garcia Rico Garcia 5'10" | 170 lbs | DB Tampa Berkeley Prep | 2025 FL (5-10, 160, Tampa Berkeley Prep) and Winter Garden West Orange’s Donovan Lanier (6-0, 160). There are also Class of 2026 sophomores Kaleb Declaire (5-10, 145, South Plantation) and Jordan Williams (5-8, 140, Jacksonville Bishop Snyder).
