At the beginning of the game, Hightower used its fast-paced offense to get on the board early and scored two touchdowns in the 1st quarter. However, C.E Kings in the 2nd quarter started picking up the pace on both offense and defense they were able to score three touchdowns in the 2nd quarter alone. In the 2nd half, Hightower was able to fight back a bit, but C.E Kings was on a roll and took a big lead. The final score of the game was 38-21 with C.E Kings moving on to round 4 to play against The Katy Tigers. C.E Kings has a destructive defensive lineup which I’ll be discussing in this article.
#6 Bryce Morton ILB Sr 6’1 215 lbs
Bryce Morton always stood out as a middle linebacker. Bryce transferring from Spring for his senior season made C.E King’s defense one of the best in Houston. Bryce is great at blitzing and assisted in stopping a good amount of run plays, rushing the quarterback, and getting a couple of sacks. Bryce exerted a lot of pressure on Hightower’s offense and is a major threat as a middle linebacker. Bryce currently has four college and university offers from; Angelo State University, East Central University, Trinity International University, and The University of Arkansas-Monticello. Bryce’s stats were 7 overall tackles and two sacks.
#0 Tegan Bocard FS Sr
Tegan Bocard is an aggressive free safety. Tegan was physical throughout the whole Hightower game. Tegan had great tackling form and brought down numerous ball holders not allowing them many yards gained. Tegan’s strength also impressed me when I saw him power through a block to make the tackle. Tegan also provided great coverage allowing no deep passes and if he saw an opportunity he would catch an interception.
#44 Zaylon Davis DT Sr 6’1 240 lbs
On defense, I love to see an aggressive defense tackle that knows how to hustle and that’s how I would describe #44, Zaylon Davis. Zaylon is a great defensive tackle overwhelming offensive linemen with incredible strength don’t let his big size fool you he would chase down any ball carrier down the entire field and catch them. With speed and strength, Zaylon is a defensive tackle to keep your eye on. Zaylon currently has one college offer from Angelo State University. Zaylon’s stats were 5 total tackles.
#12 Dylan Spencer Dylan Spencer 6'5" | 245 lbs | DL C.E. King | 2023 State TX DE, MLB Sr 6’5
Dylan Spencer Dylan Spencer 6'5" | 245 lbs | DL C.E. King | 2023 State TX is tall and slender very appropriately built for a defensive end. Dylan was fast and quick off the ball and always made his way into the backfield. The Hightower Hurricanes offense couldn’t stop Dylan which continuously led him into the backfield rushing the quarterback and stopping run plays. Dylan is a top college prospect with numerous college and university offers but decided to commit to The University of Texas for the fall 2023 football season. Dylan’s stats were 8 total tackles and 4 quarterback hurries.
