Tyrick Jones
Tyrick Jones
Tyrick was an absolute competitor this last season. Every carry he got this season was explosive as he averaged over 11 yards per carry and nearly 120 yards per game. Jones was indeed the bulldog’s main method of attack and he thrived due to his skill, size and instinct. When he runs he maintains a great center of gravity allowing him to break tackles, make quick cuts and find the open field. All these intangible abilities are what provided him with the 24 touchdowns and 1,400 yards he had for the season. As far as touchdowns go he is 6th in the state proivng how impacful he was to his team Overall Tyrick Jones is a complete athelte who is ready to be an impact starter at the next level. Any program looking to bolster their roster should certainly consider Jones as a promising prospect.
2nd Star
Anthony Ross
Anthony Ross
Anthony is a great north and south running back who hits the line of scrimmage with enough patience to let the play develop and then find the open running lane. His tendency to play this way has helped him gain 7 yards per carry and nearly 700 yards this season. Ross has had multiple 100 yard rushing games and has found the endzone at least once per game. His efficiency is what has earned him the second star for the Bay Springs Bulldogs. He would certainly make a great solid piece to a JUCO or colligate backfield as he has the potential to increase his speed and skill.
3rd Star
Anthony Newell
Anthony Newell
Anthony Newell may be a bit undersized however he has the mental and physical capability to play the role of QB quite well. He was not called upon to throw the ball all too often, due to the powerful run game his team possessed, but when his number was called he was very efficient with the passes he made. Most of Newells passes went for 20 yards showing that he can consistently make downfield throws with high accuracy. Anthony only threw 3 interceptions on nearly 900 yards this season. He was a great game manager and took care of the football when it mattered the most. His efforts and leadership on the team is part of what allowed for the team to go 11-1 this season. That is why Anthony is deserving of the 3rd star
